I can t believe the crummy reviews--we have gone to New Braunfels and this one for 12 years & think it s the best in the area. What is up with the meanness?

No thank you! I will pass. This place is overpriced and their food is not the best. If you're in the area do yourself a favor....Keep driving. I would rather go to Las Palapas, Chacos....hell, even Taco Cabana. All your paying for is the atmosphere.

My daughter and I visited the Kerrville restaurant about a month ago. We both loved our lunches. I had the tamales and my daughter had the enchiladas. Both were excellent. Service was good, and iced tea was refreshing. We are from California, and wish Mamacita's would bring their cuisine to our home town!

This restaurant used to be one of our favorites a few years back but has since gone way down. The food is absolutely horrible. The salsa is super salty, fajitas came out burned, beans and rice are dry, tortillas are rubbery. I used to recommend this place. Now I would not eat there if it was FREE.

I love Mamacita's!!! There food is always good (not the best mexican food in SA, but still really good) the service is always good, the decor is beautiful and very spacious, i really dont have anything negative to say about the place. Go there with your family, on business, on a date, whatever the case may be you will be a happy customer as i have been for over 5 years.

I have been a customer for over 5 years, the food has always been on par with the price and my kids enjoy the atmosphere. That was until Friday evening the 9th of August. I arrived with my wife, mother, father, brother, and 4 kids and were seated immediately... at a table for 6 in the back corner with 2 extra chairs and a highchair. We ask for the large round empty table in the center of the restaurant and were told there needed to be 10, to which I ask seriously? 9 is out of the question, I was then told it needed to be 10 adults, again I ask when this became a house rule because I had eaten at this table several times with my family. The hostess went to a manager who came over and told us that the table actually had a reservation for 6:00PM, although it was 6:30. The manager then told us the table was reserved for a party at 7:00. No effort was made to seat us at another table, although the restaurant was maybe 75% occupied and plenty of tables were available. My wife said we would not be squeezed into a table for 6 only to have the hostess tell her there were no other tables available, to which my wife replied we would leave. The hostess’ exact words were “then you have a nice evening” in her best fake polite sarcastic voice. I will never return to Mamacita’s. In a town known for Mexican food, service is the only thing that separates one restaurant from another. The management and staff at Mamacita’s lowered their reputation to just another run of the mill enchilada joint. I will make it a point to relay this story to everyone. Although its obvious Mamacita’s is not concerned with just one customer, or just one family, I will have the satisfaction of knowing my money will not subsidize this type of institutional arrogance.

I took my date to this establishment. Things were going well..food..not bad..nothing to write home about..decor was good...then..the wait staff dropped a huge tray right in front of our table...mustard then proceeded to splash all over our table, including ourselves. They bought out a wet rag to clean ourselves up alittle. We were at the end of our meal..the waiter then bought over the check..right after we were cleaned up. I asked to speak to the manager..Angel..who I asked to at least comp the meal. He bought over his general manager, who proceeded to tell me they dont do that. After ruining a Tommy Bahama shirt with mustard..ruining our evening..that was the least they could do!..How sad a dollar is worth more to them than good customer service. They will not see another nickle from me..and I will attempt to spread the word about them!..

This is one of the better restaurants in San Antonio for Mexican food. Most are just a hole in the wall and not very clean. This is a more upscale restaurant very nicely decorated inside and out with plenty of parking. The food is great and moderately priced; the personnel very friendly and usually very prompt service except on the weekends when it’s very crowded. The manager makes a point to personally greet the customers and ensure everything is alright. Several times when it gets real crowded on the weekends, the manager personally took our order and served us. The restrooms are usually clean too which is hard to find these days. I highly recommend this restaurant.
