Today, I had an wonderful opportunity to experience the greatest customer service ever in the world of restaurants! I had never been to Joseph s before and had heard great things about the food and their desserts. My business partner and I decided to get a to-go lunch and it was taking a little longer than expected because what we ordered had to be prepared from scratch. We ran an errand, came back and picked up our meal. On our way home, I realized I d forgotten our desserts. I called back to Joseph s (and he remembered us) told him what happened. He PERSONALLY got in his car DURING the height of his lunch hour rush and delivered the desserts to us!!! Absolutely above and beyond the call of duty!! You rock! Thanks again for proving good customer service is not dead!
I just want to start out by saying that I don t write reviews. I went there for lunch between classes and was planning to pay with my debit card. A school payment just went through automatically and there wasn t enough money on my card. I obviously didn t know this until I went home to check my account. My card declined and I didn t have any cash on me, so I just told them I will come back another time. (I think) I was talking to the owner, he smiled and offered lunch on them today and if I decided to come back another time to just pay them then, and if I don t come back lunch will be on them. I was shocked, I declined at first but he just told me to sit down and enjoy a roll while my food is being made. I didn t think there was service like that anymore. I was still in awe while I was eating my meal. That s how you get long term customers! Great service aside, the food was great also, everything tasted fresh and homemade. I had a sandwhich but I plan on stopping by there on the way to work someday for breakfest, the pastries looked amazing!
I absolutely love this place, not only is the food outstanding the employees are great. Oh and lets not forget the desserts (yummmmmm), I go there at least once a week and I have never been dissapointed!!!!!!!!
The quality of the baked goods was not even close to what I expected from the hype posted outside the bakery which I pass on the way home from a weekly outing....too expensive. I guess if you are from San Antonio or lived here for a long time you might think it is good....maybe you need to travel more. Also, I am not a socialist/communist (all the same if you ask me), but this place is a little hotbed for you lefties...not for me. Your customers are the type that probably send threat letters to AIG execs and their families.
I bought some cakes by the piece and the prices were so inflated. I wouldn't mind paying a high price if the cakes are going to be delicious but they lacked flavor and sweetness. For the price that I paid there I could have gone to the Cheesecake Factory and gotten my money's worth.
I have been many times for lunch. Everytime I go FLIES! Flies on the baked goods, flies on the tables, flies everywhere, even in the wrapped up baked goods. The food is inconsistant, The silverware is almost always dirty. And just to let the overly techno people who go there nobody wants to hear your phone conversations, Please pipe down. And as for the Creepy owner who just has to be the politican and ask while you are eating how things are give it a rest you should deal with the flies and the food. Unfourtunatly I had to tell family and friends that this place had some good soup. I take them there and they are consumed by flies and that ungly feeling you get seeing a fly on the bread and the desserts. Then to find out that the soup nolonger tasted they way it did last weekend. I may try again after they clean up their store until then trust me you aren't missing anything.
