Description

Located in the heart of Southtown, Rosario's is packed every night. It can pack in even more now that they are in a larger (but just as lively) location just a block from where the restaurant used to be. Sip on a perfectly crafted frozen Margarita as you enjoy enchiladas, carne guisada, pork tips and so much more. Do not miss Rosario's on Friday nights, when it offers entertainment by some of the best bands in South Texas. Get there early to snag a table and enjoy dinner, then prepare to dance yourself silly.

Tex-mex is not Mexican
By ,
Yet again another heralded restaurant that is not truely Mexican. I guess they do Tex-Mex fairly well, but in San Antonio, it is hard to find true Mexican food.

Do not like the way Aldaco's owner sticks her nose up in the air! Mi Tierra's owner stands by the counter and never greets anyone, either. No hospitality. The food could be a lot better, too. I'll have to try out Rosario's.

Good but not worth the post-event
By ,
I read from this site that this was the #2 rated restaurant and had to visit during the trip to San Antonio. We took the trolly from our Riverwalk hotel and found it thanks to the driver. The food was okay, the atmosphere was okay, and the service was good. However, I spent the last night of our vacation hung over the toilet. Something got me sick...real sick!

Lisa Wong should come back and devote more attention to her fine restaurant. The food used to be much better when she personally blessed each dish as it went out. I go quite often to Rosarios because I still like the food and noisy atmosphere, but I have not seen Lisa on premise in years. Fish tacos used to be sensational, but I'd avoid them now and stick with a bowl of their wonderful Fideo soup or a plate of Enchiladas Mexicanas.

Rosario's Salsa Now: Excellent food. Very loud restaurant though. Definitely a party restaurant and not an intimate date restaurant (unless you enjoy yelling at your dat) Pros: Great Scene, Food, and Drinks Cons: Loud, Loud, Loud

Great food, bad location.
By ,
Located in what is now called Southtown, it's a great location for tourists. As for me Southtown wouldn't be the best location for this restaurant. But as for the food it's really the best. It's mexican food at it's best lacking all the grease that's plagued by San Antonio's tex-mex cuisine. Rosario's has some of the best fish tacos that I've eaten, next to La Tuna. It was nice to see vegetarian meals on the menu, something which isn't really much of an option in San Antonio. I recommend you to stop on by and eat some great food, though once you are done you'll want to hurry and head out of southtown because it's filled with people whom think they are grasping what is art and think they are better than you.
