Little Italy Restaurant

Description

Established in 1983, this North side favorite has three possibilities depending on your dining mood. One side of the restaurant is cozy and comfortable just right for an intimate repast. On the other side is a wonderful take-out deli, filled with meats and cheeses, as well as the restaurant's bar. If you're in the mood for a large gathering, you can book the Big Apple room. No matter where you sit (or stand), you will be able to order from a wide selection of real Italian meals. Every meal comes with a slice of pizza and a side dish of spaghetti. Try the linguini with white clam sauce, followed by one of the restaurant's homemade desserts. If a taste of vino is to your liking, Little Italy's wine cellar is among the best in the city.

terrible service last night for my wifes birthday... 20 mins to get water...another 15 to take drink order 15 after that to get drinks after i had to ask to hostess...... two tables got their food before we were even able to order.....had to ask for pizza slices... and bread... and more tea.... and more drinks...marinara was tinny tasting, procuitto was sour, calamari was like rubber bands, eggplant undercooked, tough and bitter, we were never asked if we wanted dessert...would have been nice....to top it off the waiter shortchanged me, and the manager was unreceptive to my concerns. NEVER AGAIN.......

I lived in NY city for a year...As you can imagine, they have wonderful Italian restaurants. Little Italy reminds me of being in NY and eating at the true Italian restaurants where everything is fresh and home made. The atmosphere is very pleasnat, the waiters are very good and the food is excellant!!! This is the kind of restaurants that I would go to for lunch, dinner or that special occasion. You will not be disappointed in Little Italy!!!

We have been going to Little Italy for over 25 years and see no need to change our habit. We frequently take friends who make it one of their favorites. It's an intimate setting that has been forgotten in todays busy world. And about the food, well, the alfredo sauce can't be beat and the special pizza with proscuito and artichoke hearts and fresh tomatoes is not to be missed. Mama, Dominick, Marissa, Chris, you guys are the best!

Born in SA, I'm over 65 years.. very few Italian resturants growing up in this town,,Valero's, Paisanos and a few others,.I've been going to Lil Italy since late 1980's,,it's good food, I've never had any problems with service, cold food or being ignored by the staff. When we have parties at home, I pay in advance and they have all my food ready the time and date that I want it,,and the servings are generous, the salads are cold, and the food is hot to warm..all in aluminum pans..and I buy their good wine...I've eaten Italian foods from the east coast to the west coast, and this is good homemade fresh (non freezer food like Olive Garden's) food, and the pizza's are worth the price ,,can't beat the taste..

I was surprised to read a negative review about the service at Little Italy. I go there regularly, and from my first visit, I found the staff to be extremely friendly and attentive. Yes, there are times when the restaurant gets busy and the service is a bit slower than normal, but the dining room is comfortable and cozy so when that happens, I plan to enjoy the leisurely meal instead of getting upset. The pizza is great, the salads are fresh and crisp without being soaked in dressing, and the pastas taste homemade. I will continue to dine at Little Italy whenever the craving for pizza hits me.

Worst restaurant experience in my entire life. We were seated immediately, and ignored for 20 minutes while the 3 other tables in the entire place were waited on. I do not recommend this place to anyone. Over priced, terrible service, run down location, and overall unclean place. We left after being ignored and nobody said a word. It was as if we were invisible. This place came highly recommended by friends here in the city, but, we were disappopinted and encourage others not to waste your time or money in such a poorly run establishment. I'm sure the owner will get on and call me names, but, as the owner, I'd want someone to advise on the terrible service. This is the first and only time I've ever rated any restaurant, and I hope someone will read this and correct the problems, since Little Italy is supposed to be the best Italian food in San Antonio.
