Chris Madrid Incorporated, San Antonio

I have been to Chris Madrid's on many many many occasions......I just haven't been in about twenty years......because it's in a part of town that I don't go to very often. I have to ask myself if it's really that good when through twenty years of burger cravings....I never once decided it was worth the drive. I remember it being good.....kinda like Tycoon Flats.....only at a different location with a different name and no patio I think. Could it be that Chris Madrids has become a Legend in the burger world but is really just better than Whataburger.....but if they were way better they'd have 500 locations by now. Your thoughts?

Once you get to the counter to order things look promising. The menu is pretty much limited to burgers, nachos, etc. After I place my order I was told that my name would be called. I was one of 3 people waiting when we saw a couple of baskets placed on the counter. The young girl who was supposed to be calling names was talking to a boy instead of watching her orders. Minutes passed before one of my co-patrons went up to see if one of the baskets was hers, alas it was. Mine was there also. The girl never apologized for not calling our names. She never even really looked up at us even though the food was gettting cold. The food: I had the signature burger with beans and cheese. There is a common dish one finds at South Texas restaurants which consists of a beef patty or steak milenesa fried with beans and cheese on top. I thought that the burger would have some of the qualities of that dish. Nope. Just terrible. The beans added no flavor, just mess. The cheese was a tasteless, greasy yellow cheese of some sort. I could only eat a few bites of the sandwich. The fries were excellent. Too bad the burgers dont add up.

You have to eat the Tostada Burger, it should be the only burger on the menu. If you order anything else its a mistake. Go there, try it, then review again.

Best Burgers In SA: Everytime I visit CM's, the Tostada Burger was as good as the last time. It hard to beat fresh cut french fries. By far, best burgers in SA.

the french fries are really good. the burgers just ok. they have some big ones, and some with a lot of cheese, but ive had better here in San Antonio. the fries are really good- did I say that? The bad part? Its totally in the ghetto....

Chris Madrid's is the kinda place where you can meet with family and friends, show up in jeans and flip flops, or your Saturday night best. THe food is always great. And the atmosphere, WEll as we do it San Antonio, there is always a band playing on the weekends. AWESOME PLACE. Monica san antonian

We are hooked on the tostado burger: hamburger covered in cheese, refried beans, chips. A heart attack on a plate. everyone needs to try it.
