I was a little sceptical to come to a place I didn't know much about, especially after reading some of the reviews... I am VERY picky... as well as my 13 yr old daughter... BUT my bf wanted to try it bc of the cinnamon rolls. WELL.. after eating our meals, which were amazing...I got a bacon cheese burger with avocado, and onion rings.. my daughter got the lunch special, chicken fried chicken 2 sides (FOR ONLY $6.99) and my bf got the chicke fried steak with queso on top... OMG there was enough food left over for days!!! I stuffed myself silly ( we all did!!!) this place was amazing... service = great! time to get food = fast.. food= omg, amazing!!! We didnt get to try the cinnamon rolls but i am going to order one online! lol... that i how happy I am that i didnt listen to the reviews... this place is def a place ill always go back to!!!:)

Stopped by on a Saturday at the recommendation of some friends. It was not what we expected. The place is very unorgainzed and not very clean. We placed our orders which the waitress who took down the order from memory. We requested that the gravy be served on the side and were told that the mashed potatoes would be about 15 minutes. Well about 20-25 minutes later our plates were served with the gravy splattered all over the food. I had ordered the liver and onions and they try to cover the liver with plenty of gavey and raw onion what a disappointment! The mashed potates were boiled potatoes with the skin still on and just big chunks. One of our party ordered the chicken fried steak which was also served with the gravey all over it after also requesting it be put on the side. We also ordered one of their famous cinammon rolls which was just a piece of large dry bread with an over abundant amout of thick sugar frosting which was as heavy and dry. Would never recommend this place in its current condition. The staff though were very nice.

Amazing dive! My boyfriend and I stopped by here after a night on the town (approx. 1:30 am). We sat at the bar and placed our orders to go. I ordered the hamburger steak and he got the chicken fried steaks (yeah, plural). The service was great. Very friendly people. We also ordered extra white and brown gravy and they were happy to oblige. We got our food within five minutes of ordering it and took it back to our hotel which was just around the block. We were pleasantly surprised with the amount of food we got for the price. The hamburger steak was kind of small, but the sauteed mushrooms and onions made up for the difference and completely filled me up. I didn't even get around to the roll which was the size of a small loaf of bread. The chicken fried steak was also excellent. I had a few bites and it was cooked to perfection. We ordered the mashed potatoes and fried okra as sides and they were both wonderful. This is NOT a three star restaurant on the Michelin system, however it IS a five star diner when it comes to dives. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, expedient and very patient with our questions about the menu. We didn't see this restaurant on a TV show so we had no preconceived notions about what to expect, and we were VERY happy with both the service and the food (perhaps it was just our timing). If you expect a luxury restaurant, you're going to be sorely disappointed, however if you go in expecting a typical diner, you're in for a real treat!

We saw this place on man vs food, so we wanted to try it. We walked in and the place stunk really bad. It smelled like nasty a$$ crack. The place was filthy, it had some bumbs hanging around outside. Don't go there at night, you might get robbed. We ran out of this place. Did I mention it stinks like nasty a$$ crack? It looks more like a soup kitchen for homeless people.

Of course I had to stop by Lulu's after Man vs Food. Goal was the cinnamon roll but decided to have lunch while there. Chicken fried steak, mashed potatos & okra were excellent! BUT was very disappointed with the cinnamon roll-was bland & did not soften up even after heating up. It was basically the dinner roll that was served with my meal only with glaze and a little cinnamon here & there. Wished I would have asked if the cinnamon roll was made out of the same dough as the dinner roll, coulda kept my $8. Overall the service & meal were great just disappointed with the cinnamon roll..
