Exotic spices infuse the plentiful and wonderfully aromatic dishes at one of San Antonio's few Indian restaurants. If you're not sure you like Indian cuisine, venture in for lunch, the uninitiated lunch buffet. You can sample such traditional dishes as beef curry, chicken with spinach, and tandoori chicken. Tandoori dishes are prepared in the restaurant's authentic tandoor, a high-temperature, wood-burning clay oven that cooks everything from chicken to shrimp. When you're ready to expand your horizons and try some more sophisticated Indian cuisine, ask your server for a primer. The staff is knowledgeable and eager to help you decide among the many authentic lamb, chicken, seafood and vegetable dishes.
I have been in San Antonio for three years comming from London where there are lots of Indian resaurants so know my way around good Indian food.Almost gave up looking for good Indian food here, tried this place on Saturday and wow, great food, great service and well priced.Would recomend this restaurant to anybody looking for Indian food that taste right. Will be using them at least once a week from now on.
My first time trying indian food was in Dayton,Ohio and it was a bad experiance. I was a little worried that I might not like the food at India Oven, but I was wrong. I loved it!!! Thank you for great sevice and wonderful food!!! We will be back.
Time and time again I have gone there and enjoyed there service and not only for lunch but a must do dinner for two special. You can try the others but you will always return to the BEST.I know what hospitality is I work at Hotel Valencia.
I have never had Indian Food before, and this was an incredible first experience. I ordered a dish with rich, creamy sauce and cheese-vegetable balls, which was delicious! The decor in the restaurant was charming and elegant, and the ambient music was enjoyable. The waiter was very attentive and professional. We will definitely be going back!
Good food, Authentic. No dinner buffet. Prices are a little to high to do takeout but they do give a good amount per serving. Friendly service. Nice ambiance.
Would go back when craving Indian food, but lower prices would be better since I eat out everyday.
I've been going to India Oven for years. It is the best Indian restaurant in San Antonio. This place really has great food. Now keep in mind that I usually eat off of the buffet. But the buffet changes daily so you get to try a little of everything present on the menu if you eat there on a regular basis. I disagree with the reviewer who said that it was located in a bad area. And, the staff has always been very courteous and kind to me. They are very helpful in explaining the various foods and pronunciations. Go there and have a great meal.
