Boudro's on the River Walk, San Antonio

Yes, we had a wedding reception at Boudro's. It was a small wedding, so I needed a place for dinner and Boudro's was willing to accommodate us. When planning something from 1800 miles away it is a little tough, but WOW did they do a great job. The service was outstanding! The food was even better. Everyone was allowed to order off the menu, and all the meals came out at the same time and all the food was hot! A miracle for most restaurants, but appeared to be the norm for them. The staff all works great together and even with a full restaurant took care of all our needs. I cannot convey how fantastic the food and service was. Cinco De Mayo being a big celebration day they still took care of us!

The service was poor. I asked the waiter to give me a min. to look at the menu. I thought he got lost. The taco's were lacking, the steak was not tender. The tables outside are very, very close together. I felt like I was lunching with at least 2 other groups. This would not be rated #3 with me.

The food is unlike no other I have had since being a native San Antonian. The combinations of some of the sauces range from sweet and tangy to tasteful bitterness and citriusy sour. The guacomole is prepared by the waiter right where you sit and is a spectacularly appitizing sight to see. Another neat feature is the chip-like umbrellas that cast over the outside tables. The main courses are quite satiating. But if you do have room for dessert, my favorite is the fruit ice cream served in an editable sweet almond shell with raspberry syrup around the outside. Yummmm. Now the sight could get to a few if you are sitting inside and don't have a great view of the outside, and the wait can be long. Yet all is well worth your time.

Nothing special. Trying to come up with your own style is one thing but totally changing the flavor of American food doenst work for me.

From the Prickly-Pear Margaritas to the table-side guacamole, Boudros is a must for anyone dining along the Riverwalk.

The food is to die for. The tableside guacamole is my favorite thing to order. Don't forget the riverwalk right outside the door.

This place really is a class act up and down the line. The view of the riverwalk during Christmas season with the seasonal lights on display, the grotto-esque wall at the entrance, the attractive menu selections, awesome seafood entrees, friendly service, and to top it off - REASONABLE PRICES. OK, I'm out of superlatives. Obviously we had a great experience, but I don't think it was accidental.
