First visit for us, took out of town guests. On a Tuesday evening. Food was OK but overpriced. Margaritas were a tad weak. We were seated next to a very loud group celebrating someone s birthday. Mariachis were pleasantly entertaining, but then 2 women in the group took turns singing/screeching along with the mariachi band at the top of their lungs. This went on for over 1/2 hour. If it had been outdoors, it wouldn t have been so annoying. But in a small crowded room it was torture. Couldn t even have a conversation at our table. The women were oblivious to anyone else and obviously thought they were a very entertaining floor show. Not sure if this is a normal occurance, but we couldn t wait to get out of there. I doubt we will be returning. Once was enough.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion!!! I live in san antonio..La margarita has the BEST food ever!!! The Campechanas(shrimp) are y favorites..The salsa preferida..OMG the best!!!! With fried tortilla chips...NEVER have I seen unsanitary practices done there..They fix the campechanas right in front of you at the bar!! Does'nt get any better!! As for the watches in the mens room I wouldnt know, never been in one!! I encourage everyone to enjoy the best mexican food in town..Sincerely..Deb

Excellent Tex-Mex. My friend & I both had tasty ribs served with Spanish rice, pinto bean soup, guacamole salad, heated flour tortillas, crispy heated chips & salsa plus pickled jalapenos upon request at no extra charge. Fast & friendly service, nice atmosphere, located in San Antonio's festive Market Square.

SICK FOOD! I took my family there and the whle family became ill from the sick disgusting food. This is a tourist trap, plain and simple. I have eaten better Taco Bell than this crap. We ordered the fajita platter. The tortillas were flour, not corn, therefore not authentic. The lardo beans were days old. The limp salad that was placed before my vegetarian daughter had chicken on it when she had requested no meat. You see vegetarians don't eat animals. The waiter was rude and must have been on drugs. There were several other angry customers there. One lady at another table found a ROACH in her soup!!! They stormed out of the dump disgusted. And what's with the dude in the bathroom selling watches and cellphones??? Does he even work there? There is a sucker born every minute according to PT Barnum. Don't get suckered to going to this dump!!!!!

I highly recommend La Margarita! I had the BEST fajitas I've ever had and I travel all over the world. They were unique in flavor, tender and well prepared. The service was outstanding! Isaac Ruiz is an outstanding manager who takes pride in this establishment and his job. La Margarita is a must stop for me when I am in San Antonio. Hands down, best fajitas in Texas!!!!! We had the special order for four and added shrimp.

This establishment does not know how to treat its customers. We had our end of year party here. While the food service was good, when it came time to take care of the drink tabs it became a fiasco. The staff didn't know who had what drink, the manager was rude to one of the members in our party and practically accused them of stealing. The drink tab was short a few dollars...our party spent over $1400. RIDICULOUS!!

I love it at La Magarita. We go there for almost every family Birthday and always get great service and Great tasting food. I agree that it is a bit pricey but well worth it. I think their fajitas are the best.

I used to love the service and food at La Margarita. However, this year my husband gathered the family and we made a special trip to San Antonio to eat at the La Margarita Restaurant. My husband tried to make a reservation ahead of time. We were advised that could not be done, it would be no problem and should be seated in 15 minutes. On a saturday afternoon and one of the hottest in the year, the mercado was hot. We ended up waiting approximately 30 minutes to be seated-right next to the front door. Every time someone entered or exited, they bumped into one of the party(not always the same person). The restaurant needs to consider table and chair placement. The waiter was rude and did not disclose additional costs. It was hard to get our order placed. It took forever to get the food and when something was wrong, too even longer to get fixed. It was impossible to get an ice tea refill. Overall, the drive and wait were not worth the food. The food was mediocre. The service was dreadful. Thank goodness, there are so many better restaurants.

It is not the same as it was before, food does not taste the same, menu it's not the same, last time I went there was a year ago, and never again prices are too high and food it's not worth the price to pay. it's not even close to Mexican food way too comercial.
