Azuca Cocina Latina, San Antonio

Selected Azuca Nuevo Latino on the recommendation of a friend for our office Holiday luncheon. The atmosphere was great--decorated with unusual and beautiful blown glass creations from a neighboring business. The staff was very courteous and helpful and the waitors kept everyone's glass full throughout the meal. The menu featured a wide variety of interesting item, from safe items to the exotic, and was a nice change from the usual Tex-Mex fare served throughout San Antonio, Texas. Our crowd can be very hard to please; however, everyone was very happy with the entrees they selected and the service. Four of us had the luncheon special, the mixed grill (steak, chicken breast and jalepeno sausage), and it was cooked to perfection. I thought the mashed potatoes were the perfect compliment to the meats. Prices were very reasonable and it was nice to find a restaurant that was amenable to separate checks for a party of our size. It saved the party planner, me, the headache of having to take orders and collect payments in advance! A couple of people in our party had visited the location for happy hour and on the weekend and said it was a great time. I'll definitely go back and keep them in mind for future special luncheons.
