Landry's Seafood House
The menu at Landry's Seafood House offers a range of seafood items that are prepared fresh to order. This chain has 23 restaurants throughout the US and is known for its quality service and excellent food. The food is prepared from the days fresh catch such as fish, crabs, shrimp, oysters, tuna, etc. and is seasoned with dollops of garlic and Cajun spices. Soups, salads, sandwich, fries and tempting desserts also find a place on the menu. Landry's upstairs lounge offers a full-service bar with an extensive wine list and occasional live entertainment.
We walked out of restaurant before we ordered anything. It was not busy and we waited about 20 minutes before we decided to go elsewhere. Hostess sat us down gave us a menu, and then it was like they forgot we were there. No one came to get our drink orders. Never saw our waiter/waitress. We went to Joe s Crab Shack next door and got seated right away and within a minute or two they took care of us.
Attentive waitstaff, delicious food and great atmosphere. We sat right along the edge of the Riverwalk--yeah, people are constantly walking by close to your table but come on, it's the Riverwalk. We had the crab stuffed avocado appetizer and it was dee-lish. I had the fettucini with blackened chicken, hubby had blackened snapper. Neither of us disappointed. The bread was not worth the carbs--not special at all. Impressive wine list. Would dine there again.
In my humble opinion, the waitress and maitre d' were among the best I have met. They were personable and helpful. So obviously the restaurant is trying to do a nice job. They made me feel welcome. The food quality was not up to standard for the price. Romaine is a plant that is grown in the soil so it must be rinsed before it is served. My ceasar salad had grit in it and the fish, though perfectly cooked and very tasty, had an extra piece of shrimp shell. Was the supervision of the kitchen staff adequate? You tell me.
I was literally blown away with the delicious food and the excellent service. Based upon my experience at a previous restaurant, my expectations were not too high. However, this Landry's exceeded my expectations by a far margin. From the appetizer, to the dinner salad to the main entree, the food was delicious and the service was great. As a native of Florida and a seafood lover, I am a terrible critic. Landry's Keep up the good; work five stars *****. I will definitely come back.
Landry's on the riverwalk was the first restaurant I went to when I first moved to San Antonio. I have to say that the restaurant made a GREAT first impression of the city. The food was great. The atmosphere was great. The server was great(except the fact that he kept flirting with me in front of my mother which made me feel a little uncomfortable). The overall experience was great. I will definitely be going back.
Food was excellent. But if you have small children or plans after your meal, don't let Rob serve you. Ordered appetizer, NEVER GOT ONE. Everything was so so until we received our meal. After that we had to send the bus boys to find Rob. When he finally showed up and delivered many excuses (blaming his manager), I asked for the check. When he finally returns with it, I had to go to the hostess to get him to return to the table to collect payment. As I watched Rob receive orders, and deliver drinks and food to other patrons (some 2 feet away) he occasionally looked over to our table as our toddler screamed away in a last ditch effort to stay awake, but still did not return. Thought about walking out, but decided that explaining to the police that Rob not accepting payment was not a good idea. Meanwhile...tip... dwindling away. It finally reached zero. P.S. I have been known to tip well, sometimes 30-40% when presented with outstanding service. And one last mention, the only toilet seat in the men's room was propped up against the wall. Hope they just had an off day, but as for Rob…
Landry's on the Riverwalk is one of the best restaurants in San Antonio. It is quiet and romantic on the inside, and fun and in the middle of all the action on the Riverwalk outside. The food is excellent, we recently visited with a party of 14, and everyone was extremely pleased with their choices. The service was superb, and very attentive.
This place has the best steaks they just melt in your mouth not to mention you can eat next to the river walk and the ducks are watching you eat Everyone needs to try Landry's out I give it two thumbs up best steak in town for now that is
