Visited this location on Sun, 8/11/13. My husband and I were paraded to the glass enclosed area by the seating attendant. It was very crowded, so I guess they needed a seating attendant. Anyway, she pointed to the back seat and said, in the back. It was very stuffy and hot in that glass area. I noticed she only sat minorities in that area. i was able to see the people that were coming in and I noticed that she led the non-minorities to the left and the minorities to the right, to the glass area!! Though it was crowded, she managed to find spaces for the non-minorities in the front, where it was much more open and cooler. It became so obvious that I felt sick and couldn t eat any longer. My husband and I got up and left without finishing our $29 meal. Fellow minorities, please be aware of how you are treated in not only this establishment, but others as well. Our money was just as good as anyone else s and we should have been treated accordingly.
I live in San Marcos and have eaten at many of Texas GC and found that the GC in Universal City to be very clean and well Managed with a very professional staff,I think the bad comments are from disgruntled X employees,Loved the food and was a Great Experence.
I'm sorry to see the bad reviews. I've been to this Golden Corral several times and had great service and a friendly staff. The food has been great, fresh with many choices. Of course the trays are sometimes partially empty after a rush, but they are quick to bring out plenty more. I don't know how anyone could miss the large cash register when they come in or think they eat and then pay, even Luby's requires a ticket before you eat. I do agree the plates and silverware could be cleaner, but from the crowds I've seen, they can't be that bad.
I moved to the area in March 2010. My daughter and I enjoy going out to eat and have found the service overall in Universal City businesses to be excellent. Unfortunately, the Golden Corral provides quite probably the worst service with the most hateful wait staff I have ever experienced. We were foolish enough to go back three different times to this Golden Corral facility with each time receive worse service than the previous visit. The food was actually good but not good enough to tolerate the horrible treatment from the employees. I will never return.
Do not go here!!!! I had served some mash potatoes then gravy. well i put a little to much gravy it started to run of the plate so i let the gravy drip on to the edge of the counter instead of he floor the cook flip out and started screamin and was really rude. I went to go find a manager told him what happen and he was rude also he said oh well he is just doin his job. I wasn't lettin the gravy drip back into the food. I wrote the corprate office a email and they never wrote back. You can't treat customers that way
We ate there one recent Sunday evening and the place was a mess. There was food all over the floor and the buffet area was not clean. Service was average and the food was bland. They didn't even have onions or mushrooms for the flavorless steaks. By far the worst Golden Corral I've seen.
