Clear Springs Restaurant, New Braunfels

Wood roach in my food!!! When brought to the attention of the waitress she said, Oh, this happens all the time, old building and all . I asked for the manager and about 30 minutes later he showed up with the bill and said nothing about the roach!!! I did not eat my meal and still was charged!! NEVER AGAIN!

Someone please call Restaurant Impossible.Food is NOT FRESH this was frozen stuff. Mashed potatoes were so cold extra butter would not melt.Chicken Fried steak was so though when I got home my dog had a hard time eating it.Catfish was over saturated with black pepper, green beans were like cardboard.and who makes this horrible rice?We are adults and at this prices we got Styrofoam plates and plastic ware?The place is horribly dusty.Stars you don't rate stars! This was a waste of good money.

If you like food that has been laced with pepper, then this is the place for you. Personally, I like to taste my food. Do these people have something to hide so that they have to kill your taste buds?

Was there 11-20-11 for the first time ever at the New Braunfels location and we thought it was very good. Catfish and onion rings. Catfish was a little spicey(hot) for my husband. Onion rings are wonderful!

Best catfish but have gotten smaller and smaller yet the price hasn't slowed or gotten smaller .saw a server drink out of a cup to see if it was a coke or other soft drink then served it .

I agree with CBN, They have sure gone down hill the last three times I have went. I went this past Saturday to the New Braunfels location and agree the catfish was horribly small pieces, overcooked and overpriced. The service was very slow and the onion rings we ordered came out to the table like they were the scraps out of deep fryer dripping with grease. I am sorry to say I will not ever go back. It is sad to see Clear Spring take a dive when they were once a very good place for cat fish.

We went this past Good Friday what can you say that has not been said already certainly a great place to stop and eat!! great catfish,hush puppies,fried oysters,and shrimp!!and lets not forget the onion rings and has anyone mentioned the fried pickles which maybe? are better than the onion rings??one thing i recommend have them served with your main course!! cant stop eating them!! and i would like to thank are wonderful waitress (cute to!!) for being very attentive and make sure we had everything we needed and keeping are glasses full thank you so much !!!

horrible greasy undercooked,overpriced catfish and slow service,great hush puppies and ice tea.

Clear Springs Restaurant is excellent!!! Worthy of all five stars. I had mixed feelings given some of the reviews, but my family and I took a gamble. We are glad we did. We all cleared our plates and wanted to go back the next day. The menu brags about the best onion rings and catfish in the nation and known universe. We couldn't pass the challenge to taste for ourselves. This is not false advertisement. I'd like to try the other menu items but the portions were too generous to order more. The resturant is only 3 miles off the beaten path. The staff is friendly, the service is good, and the food is excellent. If I have to give a negative it was drinking wine from a plastic cup, but I guess this is Texas country - lol. No complaints from this diner. I highly recommend visiting this resturant.

Everything in this place is top notch, from the service to the food & atmosphere. My catfish platter was served with a slice of onion, slaw, beans, fries, puppies and lemon. The Jalapeno Crawfish Chowder was fantastic!
