Myron's Prime Steak House, New Braunfels

My wife and I went there to try a second attempt at our 25th anniversary. Landry's on the Riverwalk was a total bust. We walk into Myron's and the two hostess say they can't seat us and that the person who was talking on his cell phone would do it. So after a short wait, we were seated. Took a little while to get drinks and bread. The cocktail I ordered was kinda weak. For $12 I should taste the liquior. My wife's wine could have had a bit more in it too. Upon opening the menu there was sticker shock at the steak prices. Haven't seen steak this high since I was at Peter Luger's in N.Y. Oh well, it's a special occasion so we move forward. We order the suggested Porterhouse for two with a side of jalepeno mac and cheese. The food came out in a timely manor. I cut into my steak which was pre-cut off the bone by the waiter and plated for us. We both had a hard time trying to cut the steak. It was tough, dry, and chewy. I do a better steak at home on my grill. There were folks sitting close by and my wife doesn't like to make a scene so we said nothing. A mistake perhaps, as it cost us $96 ($148 total) for a piece of meat that we could not eat. The jalepeno mac and cheese was pretty basic. At one point the waiter ask if we wanted more drinks, we said no, but would like some more bread. The bread never came. All in all a huge dissipointment. The food is nothing I would brag about, not for that kind of money. Needless to say, we will not go back and would not recommend Myron's to any of my friends.

I loved the atmosphere, and the staff treats you like royalty, but the food is just average. For the price of the menu items, the food should be exceptional, but it was no where near. I've been once, I probably won't go again.

08/28/09 Party of six, three generations, we all love, love, loved it. Food was better than good, it was fantastic. Wine was great, cocktail to die for made with spiced pear vodka, a first for us - but not the last. Service [compilments of Robert] was wonderful. The staff was happy and friendly from the moment we parked until we drove away. We ordered different dishes from the menu, lamb, steak, fish, chicken, stuffed shrimp, all great, cooked to perfection. Please save room for desert, chocolate cake was yummy good, the best ever. The atmosphere was classic, it was so relaxing, they make everyone feel special, you are treated like you are the only customer there. Can't wait to go back, and trust me I won't wait long.

If your looking for a great steak...Go somewhere else. The rest of the food is good and the service was great, but I was really looking foward to a great steak. I guess I will keep looking!!

My boyfriend and I went there in May 2008. It was the best steakhouse ever! The restaurant is small and looks like a house, but the food was excellent. We both had the ribeye steak and it was cooked perfectly. The service was great. If you love bread pudding, you have to try it here. For the full package, add some ice cream on the side. You will eat everything and maybe ask for seconds. Can't wait to go back!!!

The only thing more bloated than all the hype about this place is the prices. This place is more about being seen there than the food itself. The service is first rate but the food is overpriced and average at best. It is better to impress all your friends if you say you ate at Myrons, steaks at Montanna Mikes, while just as good, is not that impressive. Save your money.

The BEST steak house in south Texas including anything in San Antonio...better than Ruth Chris. The food is incredible and the service in unbeatable.
