Tortuga Mexican Kitchen, Galveston

My friends and I had great service at Tortuga and enjoyed sitting outside under the covered hut like tables. Good atmosphere and good waiter. Our food was wonderful!

I loved their chips and dip! The nachos were realy good! love the ambiance. friendly waitstaff.

Really great food. My husband and I shared the Tortuga and still had food left over. The hot sauce is no where near my favorite but the food makes up for it!

My husband and I were recently on vacation in Galveston, Texas and ate at Tortuga. The food was terrible. We ordered an appetizer of stuffed jalapenos. They were ice cold in the middle. I ordered nachos for my meal and when they arrived it was a plate of chips with a few beans and a little bit of cheese sprinkled on top. I complained to the waitress who offered to take the food back. I did not do that, as I do not like to return food to the kitchen. I never know what the cook will do to it since I have complained. My husband ordered fish tacos and said they were barely edible. All the while the bartender behind us was so loud and obnoxious, it was hard to focus on anything else. In the end the waitress gave us a 20% discount. I think it should have been free. I didn't eat my food. We will never, ever go back to a Tortuga. Now I know why the one in our town went out of business.

I love the chips and salsa, very excellent service, I recommend the Coconut Shrimps! The dinner entree can feed two people! 8 giant shrimp fried to crispy not too sweet but just right perfection! I'm getting hungry just thinking about it! The fajitas are amazing too, I do remember the tortillas being unlimited if you plan on splitting the fajitas with someone! You even get choices between wheat, flour and corn! My favorite TexMex in Galveston County!

We ate at Tortugas this last weekend and we really enjoyed it. The food was great and the hot sauce was excellent. It is cheap in comparison to most Galveston resteraunts. This Tex-Mex is almost as good as East Texas Tex-Mex.

I used to absolutely love Tortugas but lately the service has been poor and the food hasnt been to great either.

Our new favorite place in Galveston. Great food. Awesome Service. Can�t wait to go back.

Decent prices and food. Not someplace I would go rave about, but it was good. Not a fan of the salsa at all, very overpowered by tomato.
