Original Mexican Cafe, Galveston

Went to Galveston this past weekend with my girlfriend...hot sauce was excellent and tortillas, both flour and corn were fresh and hot and the fajitas for two were plenty for both of us and reasonably priced....wish this place was here in Fort Worth or Arlington TX.....

Every bit as good as some of top Mexican Restaurants in San Antonio like Rosarios, Alamo Cafe, & Mi Tierra. Everything was extremely fresh. We will definitely go back there when we return to Galveston

We are on vacation from Dallas and read some reviews online before we went out for some Mexican food. It was kinda far away from our hotel, lots of lights to go through, but the old buildings are beautiful to look at....and was alittle hard to park. Seemed busy, but waiters and everyone seemed on top of it. (and its July 4th weekend). Food was good, not excellent, just good, but a great place to go if you want a good meal and at an affordable price (about 8 bucks a piece)!

One of the best in Texas. Classic Tex-mex done right. Service might be a little spotty, but that comes with the territory. If you are uptight about service, don't go to a Mexican food restaurant in Galveston. Nice work jj a.

While traveling cross-country my wife and I happened upon this restaurant by chance. We were just touring the neighborhoods and it was lunchtime when we were lucky enough to find the original. What great food and wonderful service.

Nobody cares about your daughter. This is a place to review food not a place to whine and complain about your ridiculous issues.

The food is good, and the service is okay, but I will never go back. I requested a table for 4 and a baby, as there were 4 adults and my six month old daughter. She took us to a table for four, no room for a high chair or anything. I asked where I could put my daughter and she pointed to the floor in the corner behind the table! I used to love eating there, but I will not just put my 6 month old daughter on the floor of a restaurant while I eat.

I like the service, the food was exceptional and the atmosphere was comfortable and the background music made you feel at home , definately will recomend to everyone. also best margaritas we have ever had. the best mexican restaurant in Galveston. thanks

This is what Tex-Mex is all about. Tamales smothered in chili. Veggie Fajitas. Hot chips. Fast service. Lunch is a huge crowd but you never seem to need to wait. Large party? They'll put the tables together. This place has been around longer than any of us and will survive beyond us.
