Willie G's Seafood & Steak Hse, Galveston

we had shrimp file gumbo. it was terrible. It had 3 pieces of shrimp and very little flavor. We ordered the tomatoe , mozarella salad..it had 3 pieces of tomatoe and 3 pieces of mozarella. We tried the fried catfish and shrimp dinner. We had 3 pieces of shrimp and 3 pieces of catfish over potatoe sticks (thin french fries). The only thing that i truly enjoyed was the ice tea. Prices were outrageous and the gratuity was added on because we were part of a group. We were not able to sit with the group because of the wheel chair but were still charged the gratuity for the group. I would not advise anybody to try this place. The food was not good and the prices were too high.

Oh my gosh. The food was awesome. The restaurant is located next door to the Harbor House Hotel which is where my husband and I stayed. We were able to walk to the restaurant. We started off with an avocado, mango corn relish tower topped with lump crab meat. It's to die for. My husband and I both had shrimp dishes which were equally delicious. We finished the meal with a slice of carrot cake. I would highly recommend this restaurant for the food and atmosphere.

my kids took me here for Mother's day.What a great place -service and food were excellent.We all tried different entrees and appetizers,and the only disappoinment was the seafood gumbo-avoid it at all costs! the mahi and stuffed shrimp were awesome.We will definitely go back !

Best oysters in town, and I tried 3 places. Liked the tuna tartare appetizer, but get it with wasabi cream on both sides. Good selection of beer, and I was happy. This review is from april 2009 Back again in 2010, and no reason to change my opinion. Stick to the oysters and tuna tartare. Oysters among the best. Beer selection now mediocre - Shiner and Blue Moon are ok, but not exciting. Texas as a whole just doesn't do microbrews...

This place has the best seafood in Galveston hands down. I have tried every restaurant on the seawall, and they have all been disappointing. I will NEVER eat anywhere else again during my visits to the island. Highly recommend!

Looks can be deceiving! From the cover, nice atmosphere, lighting and seating. Wait staff was courteous. This is where the niceties stop! The menu is extensive but, the food was HORRID! By all means, i am not a critic, and generally eat and like most everything. The Italian salad dressing was disgusting and tasted like olives and sardines. The butterfly shrimp on the special was drowned in marinara sauce, which tasted straight from the can. I could go on about the poor taste of the food, but you get the point. To boot, the prices were outrageous, indicative of much finer dining that you wont find here.

Will never go again! It was just a high priced Red Lobster. Nothing special. Got a Lobster for my son and it was just the lobster and a baked potato for $44.00 and I could have went to Red Lobster and got him the same size lobster, w/salad and baked potato for $21.00. My shrimp platter was nothing special either. The lobster bisque soup I had was luke warm and runny had shells in it. Nothing special there either. My husbands ultimate seafood platter was short of utimate. Looked like it came from a box. Oh well.. live and learn. 2 lobster dinners, 1 shrimp platter, 1 Ultimate Seafood Platter, 1 bisque soup, 1 tray of oysters and 4 teas = $184.00. The stomach ache and heartburn afterward = totally not worth it!

If U'r Looking 4 Some Seafood That Keeps U'r Mouth Watering After The Fact... Willie G's Is U'r Place (Big Things In Texas). Lobster Bisque Just Can Not Be Compared Anywhere Else... So Creamy & Ummm Smooth... The Flavor Just Make U Wanna Screammmm, Fresh Bread... Shrimp Was Delicious Had An Alfredo Sauce/Cheese Over It... Oh My... Willie Calamari... I Want 2 Thank U... Can U A Spot In Hartford CT... Big Things R Happening Here... I'm Sure It Will Be Worth It... The Price Is Right... Didn't Find It 2 Be Expensive At All... Not 4 Great Food.... The Services Was Lovely I Like 2 Thank Our Waiter...Jesse... Lovely Attitude... Everyone Else Was Friendly...Smile & Spoke... I Will Be Back....
