31Aug10: Stopped in and tried Sliced Beef Brisket, Turkey, Chopped Brisket sandwich, for the sides throw in Potato Salad with Pinito Beans. I ask what type of wood is used and was told Oak, this is good, the Brisket had a good ring but no smoke to the taste. Nice and tender, good break of seperation. Turkey was a little salty to my taste. Chopped Brisket was good, but the sause, come on give it a shot and make your own, company processed BBQ sauce just does not complement the meat. Sorry the Potato Salad was whipped potato's with extra's pitched in and to much salt, Pinito Beans were good and had some kick, not real hot but there was a lady at another table that would not agree with me. The wife which was with me, said the Chopped Brisket had no flavor. All in all DJ's does have a better product than Lone Star BBQ in Richwood. DJ's need to work on the dry rub and sause to enhance their meat to put out a higher product.
