Honestly, Over the past couple of years, the interior of the restaurant has improved considerably, but the service and food has gone downhill. The only thing that I would say hasnt changed is the cheeseburgers, they are delicious. DO NOT get the nachos. The appeareance and taste of the the nachos are not appealing at all. If you can drive to Lake Jackson, I would recommend going to La Casona instead.
Three years ago, I would have given them 4 stars.
My family and i just left Lucy s. We also had family down From mississippi. We chose lucys b/c we heard it was an awesome place to go to. Well im telling u it was the worst service i had evet encountered. they were very rude and inconsideret. The worst service i have ever had. Our waitress made it Clear that she was waiting for us to leave that she was ready to. Over and over again. Very very rude. The workers arounf here did the same thing. It eould of bben more polite to have told us that it was that it was to late to come In than too let us come In and treat us the way we were treated. Never again will i bring my family nor out of state to that place again.....
A favorite in the area, Lucy's boasts generous servings at modest prices.
Best tamales, period. Other personal favorites are the enchiladas. flautas, chalupas, quesadillas, and great rice and beans.
Lucy's also serves good basic chicken fried steak and burgers.
Negatives for me are the mediocre chips, processed-cheese queso, and blended smooth salsa that is extremely hot and flavorless.
I really use to like Lucy's but the food has gone from pretty good to getting worse each time i try it. Every once in awhile i would give it another chance but i always regret it. I do believe though the last i went there will be the LAST.
Lucy's rates low on my list for Mexican food. All of the food tastes similar, with a stron flavor of chili powder in everything. Also has way too much cheese on entries, big globs of melted thick cheese that you have to move to get to food.
