Went there on a saturday, decor was great, ordering easy but the food was not good. The chicken breast was burned, my son's ribs were just awful, the meat had the consistency of jerky. The fries came right out of a bag. Chewy and tasteless. The beans, well I have had better out of a can.The soup was cold, when I asked about if it could be heated, was told to give it a stir! Looking around after people left there was still a lot of food left on the plates. The gentleman at the next table was complaining how bad the brisket was. On the upside if u like all u can eat FRIED seafood on the buffet and a decent salad bar, then this is the place. Will not be going back. I feel like they owe me $35. Do not waste your time and money.
They do have a nice atmosphere ! But, the BBQ was just so so... I had the beef ribs, my wife had the buffet ( which was good for the price). My son had the chopped beef which was mushy, it was like they added bread to it
I went last weekend after not going in a few years. My wife had a sliced beef sandwich and said it was ok but she was upset because her french fries came out 10 minutes after she had her sandwich. A friend and I ordered the all-you-can-eat beef ribs, big mistake. The meat was so tough that it was almost impossible to eat. The taste was even worse. Needless to say we didn't ask for more. My son had a sirloin that was overcooked and didn't taste good at all. His fries came out with the steak but were soggy. Not sure what has happened to this place but I'll never go again.
I was very disappointed with Joe's... we had 3 different meals and eat was as near to tasteless as possible. the meat was tender, I'll give ya that but the flavor was NOT THERE,,,, the beans were only ok..I added the so so bbq sauce,, then a little more table hot sauce... the price was right.. we got the small plate meal but there is no way I'd drive back to Alvin and visit Joe's BBQ...
2010 I have eaten at Joes over several years from time to time and feel like the quality of food is gong done. The food does not have a good barbecue flavor and the chopped beef is very oily “yuk”. The chopped beef sandwich is so dry and lacking flavor. I hope they will improve and I will not go back until I hear some better reviews.
Went there with my family on 11/14/2009 around 7:00 pm decor was OK., ordering was easy but the food was pretty bad. The 3 meat platter was bad (chopped meat ( the worst looking chopped meat I've seen), ham in slice and ribs undercooked) my wife's ordered ribs and they were just awful the ribs were meatless and the little meat was like rubber. I had to ask twice for my son's food and I felt they totally forgot. My son ask for a poor boy and the fries arrived 20 minutes after we sat at the table The fries came right out of a bag. Chewy and tasteless. The beans were cold and bad. Looking around after people left there was still a lot of food left on the plates. The ladies at the next table were complaining how bad the food was. I went after Vicente Arenas from ch. 11 announce the best BBQ's in the area, AND THIS ONE WAS SUPPOSEDLY ONE OF THOSE!!. Will not be going back. I feel like Joe's BBQ owe me $70. firstname.lastname@example.org
