Since we live near Atlanta, my husband and I drove to Savannah. It’s about a 4.5 hr. trip along a somewhat pretty highway. The scenery on the highway does not prepare you for the beautiful scenes in Savannah though! We Are There. When we first entered Savannah, we passed construction and later learned there used to be a parking lot in that spot. Originally, this spot was one of the first four squares of Savannah which they are now restoring--don't know whose idea it was to put a parking lot on top of a square, but thank goodness for the historical society! I wanted to provid a rundown of a trip my friends and I took to Atlanta over Memorial Day Weekend, 2007. The schedule has been updated to show exactly where we went and how much time we spent at each place. At the end I'll also give a summary of how much we spent total for all of the attractions.
