After driving many hours from Orlando, Florida, a night stay in Illinois and a long drive through Kansas (we were amused by the fake palm trees at a gas station)..... we arrived in Denver, CO late in the night. It's interesting approaching Denver from the east at night. One moment you are driving in pitch black, the next the you see this bright spot of hope and a hotel room! ...It was recommended that we take a dip in the hot tub or sit in the steam room before putting on our pajamas. This would raise our body temperature and the special lining of our sleeping bags would trap this heat inside. This sounded like a good idea but the only problem is that the hot tubs are located outdoors. Oh well, why worry about the cold? After all, we were there to spend a night in a hotel made of ice for goodness sake. Traci and I used the locker rooms in the Celsius Pavilion to change into our swimsuits. The front desk of the pavilion provided bathrobes, towels, and sandals ($3)....
