It should have been a really bad sign when the check-in guy at Toronto Pearson said "I don't see any reservation for your connecting flight in New York". It wasn't any more reassuring when the check-in person at LaGuardia told us that they didn't have any record of us (or our luggage) being routed to our connecting flight. But after a lot of begging and pleading, us (and our bags!) are in Madrid, Spain. The cab from the Barajas airport to our hotel was about 30€ (there was a long line at the cab stand, but it moved fast). Took a long, jet-lag induced siesta, and joined the fray at around 6pm. ...

My wife had never set foot in Europe, so when our friend invited us to go to Spain with her to her condo on the Sea how could we refuse? We flew from Atlanta to London and had a few hours layover at Gatwick and looked around and did some shopping until our flight to Malaga, Spain.
