We had fun when my fiance and i stayed for a while in manila last february. We didn't plan to stay much in manila so we pretty much just went around ortigas avenue where our hotel, the richmond hotel is situated. THen on the second day we went to tagaytay, went around town and went to the crater. The car which we rented was okey, didn't cost much and the driver was very helpful and friendly to us. He took us to the place where we could ride a boat to get to the taal mountain from where we took another ride, this time on horses to get to the crater. The ride up was dusty but a lot of fun.
