Lupe Tortilla, Houston

UGH! So unimpressed. Not sure about the standards of the other reviewers, but this place certainly did not even come close to meeting mine (and I am by no means a food snob). Perhaps I came on a bad day...and that is a strong PERHAPS. Margaritas were weak and involved MUCH more ice than actual libation (3 sips and POOF...where'd the drink go?). The food (for two) took about 40 minutes to finally appear and upon arrival was thoroughly disappointing. The tortillas were fragile (perhaps stale?) and fell apart as they were rolled. The meat was tough; perhaps this explains the long wait...they were busy over-cooking the meat. The shrimp and avocado salsa tasted like a dessert (ew) rather than an appetizer. I realize everyone has a different style/taste...but this place must cater to a very specific and very different crowd. On a more positive note, the waiter kindly deducted the salsa from the bill. But my $9 lemon water-- I mean margarita and stale fajitas remained. It wasn't the waiter's fault (and the tip clearly indicated that)...but Lupe Tortilla left a bad taste in my mouth, both literally and figuratively. Sadly, I was left wishing I simply went to Taco Cabana instead. Buen Provecho, bon appetit. I hope your dining experience is more pleasant than the one I had @ Lupe's Stale Tortilla.

These are the best fajitas I have ever had!!! Hard to eat fajitas anywhere else now! Try the beef! Great.

Hands down the best fajitas I have EVER tasted. Lupe's fajitas stood out to me because of the unbelievable flavor of the meat. According to the chef who I requested to meet after raving about my meal, the steak used in the fajitas is marinated for 24 hours in a spicy lime sauce in order to give the meat an exotic bite, and to ensure tenderness. Great fajitas and a great atmosphere make for a wonderful experience on the road in Houston. Highly recommended!

Outstanding! If you like fajitas this is the only place to go. Best fajitas in town, or any other town for that matter. Let the little monkeys play in the sand and hit the margaritas.

Great margaritas - my wife says best in Houston. They keep the kids entertained while you sit in the bar and watch them play in the sand. Limited, pre-prepared menu. Can still have a nice night here, though. Pepper steak, extra habaneros, makes for next day memories of last night's dinner. Feel the burn in and out on this one.
