the place is ok but what really tick. me off was the service it was horrible. I'm not usually judgemental but they were. very racist. their we're no waiters and you be seated but no one will be their to take your order worst place ever do NOT GO THERE.
What a joke!! We ordered the boat which included three rolls and an assortment of other sushi....the actually put Cucumber as one of the rolls! If I wanted cucumber I would go to the grocery store and buy cucumber. But it was better than the last time I went and everything was rancid. I will NEVER go back to Asian City. On the scale of 1 to 10 I give them a Negative 10. This place blows!
I have never once written a review, good or bad, but felt it necessary to write one today. My husband and i have been loyal customers, coming to this resteraunt every friday night for the past fifteen years, and have always had a good experience, tonight though, was an atrocity. After finding a cockaroach crawling across our plate, we immediately contacted the manager, who attempted to get rid of the roach. We were willing to accept that these situations happen, but the way it was handled was more than dissapointing, and beyond reconcile. Firstly, the head chef Daniel, found the situation humorous and began to laugh, shocking us with his unprofessionalism. Secondly, after the manager killed the bug, he was nowhere to be found, and his lack of concern was appaling. Lastly, the waitress insulted us by offering a thirty percent discount at the managers request, which, after working for a restaurant for a multitude of years, I knew was not the proper compesation that should have been given. My husband and I will no longer be coming to this establishment, and hope that a situation like this never occurs again.
I am currently out of the country, and will be here for six months. I was thinking of what I am going to eat upon my return. Several resturants came to mind but Asian City is the first I will have. I mean as soon as I get off the plane I will not go home. It is straight to the Sushi Bar. The chefs are ready to get you what you want and prepare it where you will want more. To me it is the best sushi in the Houston area. The hot food is great as well but I prefer the sushi bar. I must admit it is one of my favorite places to eat. I have taken people there and they said the same things and have returned on numerous occasions.
My husband and I are frequenters of HB and Benihana's, Asian City has completely won us over. My first visit was this evening, and all I can say is wow. The overall feeling resrurant was super comfortable, great service from the hibachi chef, server and even the server assistant were 100%. The food was amazing and cooked PERFECTLY, not too much of this or that. Just simply the food prepared GREAT!! Thank you Asian CIty!! We will definitely be back.
This is one of friends favorite spots to eat lunch, so for her birthday I took her there. The wait staff was prompt but our cook was not. It took about 20 min. for him to even start. We both ordered the combo meal. I ended up with a plate of onions, a few veggies,a lot fried rice, noodles, and 4 shrimps. In fact when I paid the bill the waitress made a comment about all the onions. My friend was just as disappointed, she tried to tell the cook that he gave her the wrong beef but he just nodded his head.. For a $46.00 lunch it was less than stellar. Would I go again, yes, hoping this was just a one time experience.
