Food was good...not great. Mayuri is still my favorite Indian Restaurant in Houston. I'm giving them 2 stars because they messed up with my debit card and they overcharged me. I'm still trying to resolve this issue.
My Husband took my 10 year old nephew and 10 year old daughter there and they charged my husband for 2 adults and 1 kid. And when my husband said my daughter was only 10 the lady there accused him of lying about her age. And refused to charge him for a child plate.. I am so angry!!! Not over $3 but the fact she made my little girl feel bad. who the hell does this woman who doesn't speak English think she is. She was yelling in her language and making a scene. SHE DID NOT REALIZE MY HUSBAND IS INDIAN AND UNDERSTOOD EVERYTHING SHE SAID. and PS.. this is America LEARN ENGLISH.. . I AM 100% Indian and feel that if you live in America and want to run a business in this country u should know the language. AND THE FOOD ALL TASTES THE SAME. THEY USE THE SAME GRAVY BASE WITH DIFFERENT MEATS. I DO NOT ADVISE ANYONE TO GO HERE. RUDE SERVICE AND CRAPPY FOOD!!!
The food is excellent, but it would be nice if the waiters understand what you order AND then bring out the correct menu item. My wife and I had issues on the first visit, so we were reluctant to go there again. Second visit, same story. Don't get me wrong: their food is great, but we now only do take-out 'surprise'. The 3-star rating is because of the service, not the food.
This is the best indian food in Houston for the price and quality you receive. Visiting this restaurant is never dissapointing. Even if you ask for things that aren't on the menu they always seem able to accomodate. It is a wonderful experience overall. If you like your food spicy however, you should ask for it extra spicy.
Good value for money. One of the best lunch-time Indian restaurants.
Ups : Good value for money. Exceptional taste of bread. Well stocked Salad and desert bar.
Downs : Menu doesn't change very often. Since bread is made fresh, you get delayed in getting them.
