Fogo De Chao Brazilian Steakhouse - Houston
Fogo de Chao(R) (fo-go dee shoun), is an authentic Southern Brazilian steakhouse. In 1979, Fogo(R) began sharing the gaucho way of preparing meat in Porto Alegre, Brazil. Today, our gaucho chefs still expertly grill each of our 16 cuts of meat and offer you continuous tableside service. We invite you to enjoy the delicious preparations of our gaucho chefs along with our gourmet salad bar, authentic Brazilian side dishes, and award-winning wine list.
This Brazilian Steak restaurnat is pehnominal, but you better come hungry! The all you can eat extravaganza begins with a lush salad bar with more than your regular lettuce and tomatoe! You'll find tempting treats for even the finikiest of eaters. But don't fill up here because the real show is about to begin. Waiters bring steak, chicken, and lamb around to the tables on skewers and diners choose their meal. The spices were spot on! What a treat, but it was a little pricey.
Fogo De Chao is, bar none, the best eating experience I have ever had. If it was not for the price, I would eat at their 13 meat, all you can eat dinner every night. Their desserts were also quite good. Don't fill up on the salad bar too much because they have some of the best cuts and best seasoned meats I have ever had. Keep turning the green coaster over and you can eat all night for one price.
Fogo De Chao is the best place to eat in Houston. you get all you can eat fresh cooked meats, and a wonderful salad bar. This is the perfect place to go for a special event. My husband and i dont wait for a special event we go every chance we get.
After a three year absence from Houston, we decided to revisit this venerable Brazilian, heavy-weight, steak house. Again, we were impressed with the service and the waiters, dressed as gauchos (all very handsome) and very politely attentive. The salad bar is beautiful and the meats just keep coming!
The meats are wonderful cuts, very tender and juicy, but it seems they are not marinated or seasoned in any manner; so you get a great piece of meat without any flavor. One really has to pile on the chimichurri to make it taste like something; there is no other type of steak sauce available!
Salad bar is very nicely laid out but the bread at the salad bar had the consistency of paper (dry). The little hot buns served at the table, however, are very nice.
Overall, the restaurant is nice-looking and large. We sat near the wine cellar, which gave it a cozy feel and even made it romantic; but if you're there during a busy night, you may have a hard time hearing your companions.
The price is a bit too high (averaged abut $120 for two, including a bottle of wine and dessert).but you can eat meat until you drop. One would have to be a football player to eat such quantity of meats! Definitely not for the faint- of stomachs!
As an experience it was fun, but don't think I can justify spending that kind of money again.
