The boisterous, fun-filled atmosphere of Ruggles Grill appeals to Houstonians of all types. Live entertainment plays in the evenings, and the patio is typically packed in fair weather. An assortment of grilled meats is available, but vegetarians will particularly enjoy the huge platters of vegetables that have been grilled to perfection. Wash down the scrumptious meal with a refreshing glass of wine.
Service was okay, food not so much. My salad was swimming in dressing. We order a bowl of plain pasta with a little butter for a child and I was charged $13.00! Ridiculous. It was more expensive than my fancy salad. I will not go back, it is not worth it.
My sister and I went to Ruggles on a Sunday mid morning because she loves to listen to jazz.. I didnt want to go at first but Im so glad that I did. The food was soo good. The scones and the strawberry spread is to die for. The Sunday brunch drinks are good also. Cannot wait to go back there. Something really nice and special.
The Ruggles Grill does not need to be reviewed by anybody. Chef Bruce proved that this restaurant is a defenite icon in the city. The generous portions of delicious food fefinitely justify the price, the happy servers and the crazy yet classic ambiance make of this place a classic. Summer salad? Tacos, pork chops? Hamburgers? The food list offers an array of different dishes from different ethnic ideas but yet unified by Bruce's palat. The desserts? Well you need to see the tray. The Sommelier of Ruggles is as well prepared and he defenitely can recomad the right wine with the right dish. Hopefully this place will be here forever. Thank you for 20 years of delicious food.
I love this place. At least twice a month when my boy friend comes to Houston we visit. The atmosphere, food, service is top of the line. The staff is very friendly an customer service oriented. I would definitely recommend this place to friends.
A great guy I know recently had a birthday and we went to Ruggles for dinner to celebrate his birthday, but our friendship. It's the greatest place in Houston for eating, celebrating, meeting, eating.......Chef Bruce has changed the menu a bit and the new entrees all sound tremendously tempting. We started out the meal with Bill getting the black bean soup, which we sort of shared. I wound up getting a crusted chicken breast coverd in pablano sauce a veggies on the side. Wonderful. The entire meal was too good for words. We arrived right at opening time and were seated in a booth looking out at the rush hour traffic. Lots of laughs and talking throughout the meal, and our waiter, Eddie, shared in the conversation off and on. As usual, we had the white chocolate bread pudding for dessert (I think it's like a law or something). Chef Susan has not lost her touch, in fact it was better than ever. Or maybe it was the company. Ruggles continues to be a well deserved get away place for great food, and relaxing with the people in my life. Go! Eat! Enjoy!!! There is no better!! and tell them to sit you in Eddie's section for the best service!
The food was fine, The service was a horrific experience. The food did not make up for the 3 1/2 hours we waited to get in and out with only a crowd of 7. To make things worse our tab was wrong up with the wrong table as we exited the doors. The waiter came after us. When asked to speak to manager, we had to wait 10 minutes for that too. I wouldn't go back and it was my 1st time.
If "Jenny was saved by rock and roll" means anything to you, then head to this neighborhood dive bar during
midweek to play PacMan and listen to (arguably) the best jukebox in Houston while throwing back a $1.50 PBR. ...
In typical American fashion, red, white and blue are the colors used to decorate this popular eatery that has been
in business since 1923. Chili and cheese Coney's are the most famous hot dogs on the menu, but there ...
