I didn t want to write this but the manager, David, and the Valet worker, Juan Saragosa, did not take care of me as a long time old customer. I have been an old customer from once the establishment opened. My family and I were personal friends of God bless his soul, original owner, MIRKO. I had attended a 80 s party across the street at Numbers and thought it was safe to park at Michealangelo s since they offered the public to park in their personal property and paid the valet for it. When I returned at 1:45am, I found two bottle of broken glass that were thrown at my tire. The valet attendant, Juan Saragosa, was present along with the whole kitchen staff who saw me and my girlfriend leave. As soon as I left the parking lot, my tire went flat and I had to pull over to the Valero gas station where a nice stranger changed my tire. I spoke to David on the phone and he agreed to look at the camera footage and told me to present the new tire bill to him. I dropped off the bill and talked with Juan and he was not interested in listening to me at all. He argued with me and made me feel terrible. It was clearly the restaurant s fault as I was allowed to park on their private property. David never returned my phone calls either!!! I have been in the hospitality business for over 30 years, at the least he could have returned my calls and made some kind of agreement. I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE AGAIN!!! VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!!!
I would not trust this business. They wrote some bad payroll checks and seem to have no intention of paying them. I have called the restaurant and informed them of the thousands of dollars in returned payroll and all they tell me is to call the corporate office at 713-490-1300. Very convenient because this number goes to a voicemail everytime I call and no one has called me back.
Budget for valet and piano man -- it's your ambiance. Hard to tell from outside, but we arrived underdressed for this establishment. Pls offer a non-alcoholic, caffeine-free drink. Waiter was attentive. Soup was lackluster. Veal was good but with a little grizzle. Wine sauce with artichoke and mushrooms, as well as marinara, were very good. On the tortellini, lose the berry drizzle and add more gorgonzola. Probably better italian elsewhere.

Party of two with 2 appetizers, bottle of wine and 2 entrees
Saturday Nite 7:00 PM
when the bill arrived at the table mind you well over $100, there was a 15% service charge already added to bill. Party was of 2 people, not 6 or 10 or 15, only 2 people.
Last Time - actually never again.
Sorry guys, many other italian restaurants in Houston
over the last 25 yrs, my wife and i have patronized this restaraunt. The quality and service has gone from fine to poor. The ceiling fabrics are old and moldy in places, the piano is kinda beat up and the bill had to be corrected more than once under what became a tedious compromise. see it at lunch time to appeciate the yrs of wear and tear. tips are always added to the bill and the valet will whip your vehicle away to a safe area, 20 ft. away. sad how this once fine resteraunt hasn't been given the attention and care it deserved.
The draw of this restaurant is the ambiance. Very homey yet elegant at the same time (except for the ceiling drapes). The piano player makes for a wonderful dinner background although it can be quite loud. The food is average or below. Most dishes taste like they are made from frozen ingredients and really miss the mark. The dessert (esp the Tiramisu) is wonderful however. Great place for an anniversary or date, but not the best food around. Still warrants a recommendation to go to.
Michelangelo's was very good. I don't usually like certain Italian foods but this place made everything taste exceptional. As far as the idiot that said this place had bad service and even worse food...well like I said he's an idiot! I can't wait to go back!!
