this place is a dirty disaster there are to many other places in the area to go. Do yourself a favor and go
elsewhere. But if you decide to go here I advise taking a can of bug spray. If you drink here watch out for the Keller police and your bar tab..................
Best value and absolutely the best barbeque around. The restaurant doesn't have alot of room and it's tight at times, but that's because there's always folks ready to roll up their sleeves and dig in to the best brisket, ribs, sausage, turkey breast, pulled pork & smoked chicken wings. And the sides are awesome as well - fried okra and corn fritters, green beans and slaw to name a few. The atmosphere is all texan down home relaxation. There are two sides to the restaurant - non-smoking family section and bar section. They have a full service bar and also cigars should the need arise. They have live music most every Friday & Saturday nights, and it is great - wide variety of music and the performances are terrific. Since it's a small space you are up close & personal with the band, especially if you sit on the bar side. This is a place that my wife and I can take the kids for a great meal at a great price, or go out on a date and have a wonderful time as a couple. It's a great place to meet friendly people and have good food & good times. The parking lot is small, so you may have to park & walk a few feet, but it is well worth it. The building looks small on the outside but is much larger than it looks on the inside. If you are ever in the area, this one is definitely worth a stop.
This is one of my favorite places to be ever!! I used to be a regular about a year ago but I quit going. Last night was a pleasant trip down memory lane and I felt right at home. Most of the staff remembered me as well. I love this place, the people, the food, the atmosphere. One of the largest beer tap selection I have seen. I will definately start going back more often.
Wow, what a great place. Don't be food by appearances. The place may not look like much on the inside, but it has great food and I for one find the down home atmosphere and decor charming.
I have tried several things on the menu, and I have never had anything that wasn't wonderful. Of course it has great BBQ, but go for the fried catfish as well. A somewhat lesser known secret is that Up 'n Smoke has a great Chicken Fried Steak. It really reminds me of my mom's, so you know it has to be good.
Don't forget to get an order of the grilled chicken wings. They are un-sauced and I guarantee it is not needed for these. The seasoning they use makes them plenty delicious, sauce would only distract from the flavor. Ask them to throw them back on the grill and char them up a bit to get the best flavor. I sometimes make a meal off of these and the brisket stuffed bacon wrapped smoked jalapenos. Service is great, staff is friendly and the food is wonderful. Try it, you won't be sorry.
We have been dining at Up 'nSmoke for many years. The food is great. The service is home-spun and great. They've even catered a party for us and it was wonderful. This is a true Texas BBQ restaurant and a fun place to go. If you don't like this place, you can't be from Texas!! I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting real Texas BBQ and a fun evening. If you plan to drink heavily at the bar, don't drive your car, get a designated driver. The Keller PD are a great bunch of folks, but they will not tolerate drunk drivers on the streets of our great city! Good for them!! Don't like this concept, don't drink and drive in Keller!
If you like GOOD Smoked brisket, then this is a definite stop. The meat is tender and full of flavor. I always intend to try something else but the smell of the place keeps me asking for the sliced brisket. If you are not from Keller but close by and looking for great food, make this the place.
