I don't go here every day, but when I do I know it will be great. I was delighted with every visit over the last 12 years since I first discovered it, never a disappointment. The staff is friendly, helpful and attentive. The food is great and the chocolate souffl
I brought my girfriend to this place not knowing exactly what to expect. One of our first impressions was that the decor felt a bit old, like a fine retirement home, and to add to impression was the elderly who occupied most of the restauraunt.
We also ended up waiting at the front for 15 minutes with no one around to seat us. The service we recieved after finally being seated was exceptional.
When we got to our seats and recieved our menus, we found out that the prices were quite highly priced. This is not the type of place you would want to go to unless it happens to be a very special occasion. Each person will average 50 dollars or more for a meal. The food was exceptional, but did not fulfill the the money I spent.
I would not recommend this place unless you have excess money to spend.
Mediocre food, poor ambiance (that of a cheap hotel). My steak was too salty, I sent it back, they rinsed it off and sent it back out to me. Poor experience overall, will not return. Too many better places to go in the metroplex for this kind of money. Dinner for two, no cocktails, one bottle of wine ($50) was $200.
My husband and I have gone to this restaurant for years for special occasions. I have never had bad food or heard complaints from other diners. The salmon is excellent. The vegetables are not something you'll want to leave on your plate. The chocolate souffles for dessert are to die for. I dream about those.
Service is generally very good, though I have had some less-than-perfect service now and then. The atmosphere is moderately romantic. It's on the 9th floor of an office building and overlooks the expressway and an amusement park. But the sunsets can be lovely. The cost is more than just a casual restaurant but far less than some of the expensive restaurants in Dallas. They have a prix fixe menu with three courses for about $40. With wine and tip the dinner is still over $100 but it's worth it.
Dress can vary from casual (even nice dress shorts for guys in summer) to very dressy. I have recommended this restaurant to many people. The only other one I like for a really good meal and something special (and not necessarily better or more special) is in Dallas and costs more than double Cacheral.
