Andrea's Restaurant

Description

Andrea's features both Italian and Mexican creations from Alfonso Carmona and Salvador Garcia, well-known Dallas-area chefs. Located near Baylor Medical Center on the outskirts of downtown, this spot is popular with the downtown crowd as well as hospital employees. Functional, airy space creates a relaxed atmosphere in which to enjoy imaginative cross-cultural selections. The chefs add a modern twist to traditional Italian and Mexican dishes like Mexican Fish Soup with the added flare of zucchini, shrimp and calamari. A variety of pasta dishes are available with a range of seafood from shrimp to mussels. Bruschetta with tomato basil and goat cheese is plentiful and delicious.

Andrea's ROCKS!!! My absolute fav date place in Dallas. Tucked away in a ghetto stripcenter, this place is a definite diamond in the rough. The pan seared tilapia and chicken risotto are both awesome! The waitstaff are always super attentive and the chef usually comes out to talk to you. Cozy, romantic atmosphere. Feels like a small NY restaurant but with TX hospitality! I highly recommend!!!

The location is not the best BUT the food is GREAT! I have been a customer for many years and till this day they make the BEST Chicken Picatta in town! Not only that but the chef comes to your table to talk to you. They are very friendly! LOVE Andrea’s!

Chef Carmona is so welcoming and friendly, the atmosphere is intimate and comfortable, but best of all is the menu, everything that I've ordered has been just a perfect dish, flavor, presentation..it's enjoyable food! I recommend the calamari as an appetizer and as a main course the t-bone with mushroom and wine sauce...You won't be disappointed!

Exquisite Food in an Unlikely Place
By ,
I have taken several out of town guests to Andrea's and they always want to return. It's wedged in between a convenience store and a laundry mat on Gaston right past Fitzhugh. They serve a delicious appetizer of goat cheese and tomatoes on bread. I've ordered tilapia often and it is always white and fluffy without that gamey taste AND their salmon is always perfect...pan seared in butter. Even the vegetables are terric....colorfully and creatively placed...crispy and flavorful. Their Tiramasu is fluffy and sweet, the angel hair pasta with shrimp is also quite good. This will be the kind of place you will think of as your own because it's a gem in the rough. You can go casual but if you want to drop in dressed up that is fine. Give lunch a try...their prices are great.
