Won't go back again
By ,
This is the 3rd time I've been there. It seems like their food and services is getting worse eveytime I visit. As I know that they are always busy, I already go early to get a table. Then we waited almost an hour before we get our food. Other people that comes later got their food first. And then we waited another 30 mins just to pay our bills and leave. The lack of response from the server and the chef is driving customers away!

Desparately Seeking Sushi
By ,
I went here with a few friends one Tuesday night. The atmosphere is pure Japanese. While we went specifically for sushi, the menu had plenty of other options for those not in the mood for uncooked fish. If you like your restaurants to be holes-in-the-wall, then this is the place for you. While I prefer that, it does mean that the tables are small and the room can be cramped on a busy day. One thing to watch for: Saturday and Tuesday are dollar sushi day. It looks like this place is also set up for karaoke, but there was none happening while we were there.

Sushi yama has to be my favorite Japanese restaurant. I don't go for the sushi...as a matter of fact I can't stand sushi. However; they have the best traditional Japanese food I have had outside of Japan, including curry, bento boxs, and udon. As everyone has stated, there can be a long wait to be seated. When we went, we arrived right as the place opened and had no issues with seating. However, 30 minutes later there were no seats left and people were being turned away. Also, we DID sit for 30 minutes after we finished eating before receiving our bill. I love going here for a special treat from time to time but the wait is discouraging.

Best Sushi in Dallas
By ,
This is the best sushi experience in Dallas. When a sushi restaurant is full of Japanese people there must be something about the place. The food is very good and the staff is great. I love everything about this sushi restaurant. Thanks for the real thing.

$1 suhi night - unbelievable!
By ,
When I heard about this Tuesday special, I thought it was a bit suspect, but the sushi is great. There is a ten dollar minimum, but it's one dollar for sashimi (rolls are regular price). It is open until 2am daily. Apparently this is where the sushi chefs go when they get off work.

Used to love going here, but it seems over the last 6 months the service has gone down, normal evening has been get seated, wait 15 minutes for drink order, 15 more to receive drinks, then make food order, and sometime in the next hour the sushi arrives, it's sad to see such a good place turn into this.

Absolutely love this place! My fiance and I have been coming here for about 3 year now, 2 or 3 times a month. We come on Tuesday and Saturday nights for the dollar sushi. It's ALWAYS packed, so expect to wait for a seat, but doesn't that say something about the restaurant if it's ALWAYS busy, especially in this economy?? I'm disappointed to see other people's negative reviews because of slow service and having to wait for a seat, however I disagree. Yes, it's true that you will need at least an hour and a half or two to have a good meal here, but that's never bothered us.. I guess it depends if you're with good company or not. Even though we wait longer than average for food, I'm never bored with my fiance, he's ALWAYS good company, I guess I just got lucky. The service is a little slow because they only have 2 servers and 3 chefs. But we always feel at home here, the chefs and servers always remember us, which is really nice. No matter how slow the food may be, once you get it, it's well worth the wait.

Real Japanese!
By ,
While most of the Japanese restaurant in DFW are owned by maybe an Asian person, this on offers authentic Japanese food with the best appetizers around.
