I've been to this restaurant several times before. Went on a Thursday at 12:15 PM with reservations made for a friend's 50th birthday and not only was the maitre d' rude, so was the girl checking us in. They made us wait at the bar for our table for 30 minutes and they knew this was a special celebration. The owner should know that his staff is running people off. There are plenty of other establishments that would love our business, especially in these times. Don't think they will get another chance. They don't deserve it.

Our experience at the Mercury for Restaurant Week 2009 was excellent. The choices on the menu were the best out of all the restaurants we visited. The 4th course, especially, was wonderful. We will return again and again.

I had out of town guests here for business, and we visited many of the top restaurants in Dallas. Out of all our dining experiences, my guest chose to take his business associates to the Mercury. The food and service received top raves from all in the party. Kudos to Chris and his staff for an enjoyable evening!

Fabulous

We celebrated my birthday at Mercury Grill last week. From the minute we walked in the restaurant we were treat like royalty. The host, waitstaff and chef were wonderful. The entire evening surpassed my expectations. Our group tried almost everything on the menu and noone was disappointed. The slow-cooked short ribs and the tuna were stood out. Truly one of the best dining experiences I've ever had. We will definitely return.

New Year's Eve
By ,
We really enjoyed our dinner on New Year's Eve. The food and the ambiance were solid as usual. However, the waiter came around 10 minutes before midnight asking if we wanted a glass of champagne to toast the new year. We said 'sure, why not'. Then we got the bill and noticed that they charged us $7.00 each for the champagne. $7.00 is not a big deal, but we thought that was cheesy. If you're spending $150 for dinner on New Year's Eve at a nice place, they should give you a glass of champagne. This isn't Chili's, its a 4 star restaurant. Steak was good. Halibut was good. Black Cod was good - similar to Nobu. Shrimp appetizer with jalapeno cheese grits was the highlight.

I wish I lived in Dallas!

As a vintner I travel extensively and have the opportunity to dine at great restaurants around the country and abroad. The Mercury Grill is unforgettable on every level. It's charming ambiance is outdone only by the service and the mouthwatering cuisine. Chris Ward has a style all his own which reflects the passion he brings to his kitchen.

Great food, great service! A bit expensive, but you get what you pay for. Good choice for a special occasion. There are some gems on the wine list...

Stay away from Mercury
By ,
What a disappointment! We had read about this restaurant from several guides. The reviews must be old. I had a veal chop that was as dry as the bone attached to it. Sauces did not show any talent what so ever and over all it was just another over-priced restaurant acting like they are something special because they charge a lot. I've been through that scenario for years and usually can spot them before I get there. I don't make the same error twice. Maybe they should try something much simpler.
