This simple yet endearing joint serving Tex-Mex cuisine has been satisfying taste buds since 1981. The ambiance at the family-run restaurant is friendly and the food is excellent. Choose among their popular dishes such as Jack Hongos, Guacamole Salad, Lucychanga, and Spinach Quesadillas. If you're in for a quick meal, stick to the Luncheon Special. A favorite haunt of many movie stars and their fans, the only thing bigger than the eatery's reputation is the smile on their customers' faces.
My rating is -10. I had to check one star to warn other diners about this dump.
I ordered beef nachos for $7.95 for an order (outrageous). The waitress in the yellow Kmart shirt brought the order and I ate it. When I asked for the bill, she brought it, but it was for $10.50 - I asked why I was being charged so much extra and she explained in broken English that I was given a pat of guacamole and some refired beans were added to the chips. So what, I replied, I didn't order it, I only ordered beef nachos. Long story short, I paid the bill, and picked up my tip - BEWARE of this place UPCHARGING for food you do not order, and fluffing it off as a language misunderstanding.
Plus, OJEDA'S on Maple serves much better food, as does MONTERREY on Lowest Greenville. Be smart, when you're driving down Lemmon Ave - AVOID THIS DUMP-MIA'S
Mia's is a great restaurant. Of all of the Tex-Mex restaurant's in Dallas, this is the best. The best menu item is brisket tacos. It is not a fancy eating establishment even though it is located by many of the better eating establishments in Dallas. I eat there at least once a week. It does have limited parking and I try to avoid Chile Rellanos night. Margaritas are OK even though Uncle Julios' Swirls across the street are better.
I had the best tortilla soup, I live in the Rio Grande Valley and I have not been able to find a place where they make tortila soup like Mia's does. They also have have great customer service. I highly recommend it! Ask for Diana to be your server she is great!
Mia's is a great place for a date, to eat/drink with friends and to just sit back and relax. Be sure to get there with plenty of time before you absolutely have to eat. They're usually pretty packed and the wait can sometimes be a little long but it's worth the wait.
Have a margarita or beer and just sit back and enjoy the company of whomever you're with. Oh, and the brisket tacos are a must!
WOW! A margarita lover's dream! Smooth, cold and refreshing drinks at a good price. Other places give you watered down with house tequila. They have the best ones for miles! The food is quite authentice and compliments the frozen margarita, my fav!
