This tiny yet high profile, upscale Vietnamese restaurant caters to many varied tastes. From ultra-spicy to mild Vietnamese foods, there is always a gourmet feast at Green Papaya. The contemporary decor, with subdued lighting, light woods and a large saltwater aquarium, enhance the casual atmosphere. Signature Green Papaya Salad is mild and crunchy, heaped with mint, shrimp and grilled pork. Other favorites include steaming Tempura Shrimp, Spring Rolls and Chicken Vermicelli. Try the soda Changh Duong (lemonade made with mineral water).
The food is 'real Vietnamese' food. I don't know what the other people were talking about. The menu is very limited, especially when it comes to Pho, however, they have the best spring rolls I could find in the DFW area. Another good place, with a MUCH larger menu is Vietnam restaurant. The reason I'm writing this review is because of the fruit flies. They're everywhere at times. Every time my girlfriend and I go in they're hovering around. This is really annoying, and, although my girlfriend swears their pho broth is the best in town, she insists we don't go back until the problem is addressed. We'll be going to Vietnam for now, which is a heck of a lot cheaper as well.
This place is disgusting. The food is not even close to being Vietnamese dishes. If you want any authentic asian dishes in the DFW area goodluck because there is none. If you want to experience true authentic dishes you need to fly to either California or Denver because the food is amazing there. Don't bother trying this place. I've had a stomach ache for two days from eating there. You don't know what you're missing out on until you've tried nothing but the best. If you gave this place a great review it's surely because you're more into the americanized dishes of asian cooking.
I work close to this reataurant and used to eat at this palce 3-4 times a week for years since I knew it. The foods are awesome and very good services.
I started cooking and bringing my lunch box since last year but I still go to this place sometimes. The waiters and waitress know what I want. Very nice one.
The ambiance isn't all that great but the food and service make up for it. Try the Pho, Bun Bowls, Emperial Rolls, and the oh-so-delicious Green Papaya Salad!!! The freshest and best Vietnamese in town! Oh, and your tea or water will never be empty at this place. This palce is a must!
Don't know what else to say, but this place is delish!!! Everything I've ever had has been wonderful. Service is great (fast and attentive), relatively inexpensive for the taste and amount of food, and the restaurant itself is cute and quaint!
