La Calle Doce
By Michael, 2/13/13
I made a reservation for Valentine s Day dinner three days ago via Opentable and today get a cancellation email. I call and they say they aren t taking reservations for VDay and it s first come first serve. Poor, poor customer service to not honor a reservation.

This is by far one of the best, if not the best Mexican Seafood Resturants in the entire DFW area. It is usually a good sign when you like the salsa. When it is fresh, hot, spicy, and favorful (with cilantro and garlic) you know that you should be good to go. Try the Salmon entree or Shrimp tacos. All fish is great. The ceviche is also a treat!

I have eaten at the oak cliff location for over 10years, always been a good wait staff, good atmosphere, wonderful food, but my last 3 visits ive left dissappointed with the food, waiter was great, but the food has been eeehhhh, greasy and tasteless, not sure what is going on the past 2years, but think today is the last visit ill make

I would have to disagree with the last person who wrote a review. The food is tasteful and more or less has an idea of what Mexican food is suppose to taste like. Although the food may taste different at times because of different cooks but its usually delicious and fair priced. Try the Ceviche. I love this place! great atmosphere!

Disappointing- the dishes lacked flavor, they charged us $2.50 for a 6oz kids orange juice because it wasn't included in the $6 kids meal! Service was slow, much of the plate was covered in lettuce to distract from the small meat/seafood portions. The restaurant did have great atmosphere. Overall, too pricey for the food they were serving.

La Calle doce has the best chips and salsa ever!! I love the atmosphere. It is so cozy it almost feels like I am eating at home but better. The lemonade is homemade it so good. I have nothing bad to say about this place. I can go all day about this place I have been going for 19 years.

Over rated with the exception of the drinks. In fairness, you gotta go in for the mexican idea of seafood...give me better salsa and cold beer like you get at Manny's....

muy delicioso

if you know or would like to know real mexican fare, this place is it! two locations--original is better--both mighty fine eating. from the chips and salsa, to every main course i've had for over 20 years, esta numero uno. parking is a challenge, but everything else is the very best--food, service, attitude,ambience--that you could ever hope for. i'd not hesitate to take anyone there. i've dragged several native mexicanos, and they too loved it. what else do you need to say?

Don't Understand the Hoopla Over This Place
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/28/07
We had heard rave reviews from people and read reviews on this place. Our experience wasn't all that great. Had the Calamari as an appetizer and it was really good. The main course was Tacos Al Carbon. The meat was cold and tasted what I would imagine shoe leather would taste like and had no flavor to it. However, the Diet Pepsi was good. The surroundings were cramped and the menu expensive. There are a lot better places to eat in Dallas. We were very disappointed and probably will not return.
