Description

Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament is a complete entertainer, worth a visit with your family or friends. It features a book shop and a museum that add to the uniqueness of this place. The USP of this place, undoubtedly is the performance of the knights jousting on horsebacks, waving swords and entertaining the audience. This 60,000 sq.ft. castle boasts of a moat and live Koi schools. The performance will surely take you back to the medieval times. The English Cuisine completes the medieval mood.

OUTSTANDING show, meal, fabulous horses and extremely fun afternoon at this matinee. The tomato bisque is superb as was the entire meal and served plenty hot. The knights and the entire cast of the show all did great jobs in their roles and the horses were among the top stars of this show - well trained and beautiful. Highly recommend this as an outing. Not cheap to go but buy the best tickets you can cause it's worth it.

I went as a kid and loved it...I went again as an adult and liked it ok. Everything is quite pricey from the tickets to the alcohol and especially the gift shops ($5 for a colored felt flag??). The food is ok...the give you quite large portions but no utensils to eat with (not even a spoon for the soup...but I guess they didn't have spoons in medieval times huh?) The dessert was blah. Our server did a good job, or at least the best she could under the circumstances. They ask you to arrive an hour early so then you spend an hour waiting to be seated...amongst all the children. The chairs are very close together. I bumped elbows with a stranger the entire night. The show was decent though. The horses were very nice and the knights did a good job. They made it fairly realistic within the safety precautions. I'm sure kids would buy it any day. There was a lot of dialogue though and I would have liked to have seen more action. This is me just being critical...overall I really enjoyed it although I don't think it is worth the price. But I would definitely take the kids as a special treat if I had any!

To everyone complaining about not getting enough drinks: Your server is serving up to 52 people at one time and must carry pitchers on a tray to your ungrateful ass in a limited amount of time. There are exactly 40 minutes to get soup, bread, drinks, chicken, (any veggie plates), ribs, potatoes, more drinks, napkins, bus bowls, bus plates, deliver pastries, and pick up pastry plates. 40 minutes go by, and servers are no longer allowed on the floor. Also, pouring drinks in the dark while balancing a tray with six others pitchers is not an easy feat. You're welcome.

NOT FOR RENNESSANCE GOERS!!! My husband and I went there to take the kids thinking it would be fun. The kids were not impressed by it. The actors did a ok job, the only good one was the green knight the rest were blah. The princess had a annoying voice, you could not hear what she was saying but you could hear her high pitched sqeaking of what she called speaking. It sounded like they were talking to a chipmunk. The entire experience felt way to commercial for me. Its a way to act like it but not really feel like you are back in that time. The food was fantastic though, that was kind of worth it. Other than that the price for the experience was not all that good. 60 dollars to feel like a cattle, no thank you.

Took my son on 11/20/2010 to celebrate his birthday. I had never been before, so I was a little worried that my son would be disappointed. I look like a genius now. He loved it and had an amazing time. The only time he was bored was during the time we spent waiting to be seated. He was only bored because he had already spent some of my money on souvenirs and was very hungry. Well, he is a very picky eater but he demolished his piece of chicken (it is a very big piece of chicken). The food was great. I finished my tomato soup and finished my son's soup as well. I didn't buy any alcoholic drinks because they were a little expensive. The performers were awesome and I can't wait until we visit again. However, it will be a while before we go back because you do spend a pretty penny when you do all of the upgrades. It was worth it though for our first visit. Next time we may just get the basic seats, because there isn't a bad seat in the house.

I decided to take my Wife & two daughters (16 & 13) during spring break. We showed up 75 minutes before the performance. Since we had pre-ordered tickets, we were able to avoid most of the line. Not too bad. Once inside, we were hustled through a picture & moved into the bar/shop/castle waiting area. We were able to find one of the few seats next to the horse stalls. Good thing...because the crowd got rather large. My daughters attended the Torture Chamber museum. Best Deal in the place...$2.00 each. They thoroughly enjoyed it. We recommend this adventure. Meantime we started hearing how the beer & margaritas (with souvenir mugs) sold for $25. I was like WOW! The souvenirs were equally outrageous in cost. Regardless of the cost, I kept watching people spend way beyond typical means for these items. I found it to be a tad exploitive. Once the crowd was summoned inside....it was a cattle drive..lol. No reason to hurry...because the seats are reserved & numbered. The seats are very comfortable once inside. We were in the corner about 3 rows up. There seems not to be a bad seat in the house. Our waiter was friendly & gave his canned spill. Only thing that bothered me...was that he ended it by saying he survives on "our tips"...that the King does not really pay him. Oh well.....we tipped him very well. The waiter we had.....worked extremely hard. He was even part of the floor show. However, as others say....you will die of thirst ....as they are VERY stingy with refills of cokes & tea (only one refill). The food was surprisingly good...but greasy....which made the thirst issue even harder to bear. Of course they want you to call a bar waiter over & order some of those ridiculously expensive drinks. We resisted with cotton mouth...lol. The show itself was very good. Of course our knight was the first one eliminated (of course all staged). The knights are good athletes & showman. My daughters loved them. However, according to a vendor...they are all 'players' & full of themselves...lol. This became more evident as we are leaving the lobby after the show. I passed our knight and tapped him on the shoulder saying.."you gotta toughen up buddy". He looked at me as if I didn't realize it was staged & I was an idiot. Very cocky. On the way home...we all had stomach aches. Nothing terrible...but figured it was from the greasy...but very tasty food. Overall it is an event I would do once & only once. If you do not have kids.....I would say skip this for better adult entertainment.

Read Chris's negative review which made me hesitant. Took the chance with family and kids in town and had a memorable experience. I can only assume he was having a bad night or was not comfortable with the mildly chaotic atmosphere. First the good. Food was tasty and filling, service was good, performance was entertaining and fun, and they did a good job of balancing viewing the show with serving dinner. overall a very good time. The bad. Fairly long wait (40 min?) beforehand in the lobby, museum area. time passed quickly though. Noise level was high at times during the show and ears were almost ringing afterwards. Had a hard time hearing our server talk due to his hispanic accent and overall noise level. Time from recommended arrival to end of show was about 3 hours so it's a long evening. Suggestions: bring the camera and a fun attitude, this is not a visit and talk dinner show. Seating is all arranged to face the horse arena so you can really only talk to someone sitting on either side of you (loudly). They encourage yelling and cheering. If your sensitive to sound some ear plugs are recommended. I had the vegetarian meal which can be reserved. I thought it was better than half a chicken, spare rib, and half a tater unless you must have meat. Bring a bottle of water so you won't worry about missing the server. Servers come by in less frequent intervals so if your used to instant ketchup or water you might get irritated. see point 1 about a fun attitude. They do a fair amount of selling throughout including during the show, but it was not annoying or excessive. Souvenirs are expensive (for what your getting), the photo they take of your group as you enter costs $20 (but is well done). I have no trouble saying no thank you and did not feel pressured in any way to buy anything. Window shopping is fun and cost nothing. The greatest comment and rating I can give is, would I go back? With earplugs in hand and as a treat for family or guests I would say yes.

I went for my birthday a few months back and had so much fun that I went back today. Once again, the food was great, nothing fancy but very tasty and filling. Both times, our servers were young guys with a great sense of humor and the ability to connect with their guests. I think this, along with the entertainment from the actors and the castle scenery/decor, make this place worth going to. I'm already looking forward to going back again. This is THE place to leave your worries behind and just have a great time with your family and friends for a few hours.
