I eat at HLS at LEAST once a week. That a lot considering I work in Addison and live in McKinney. The gumbo is as close to my cajun mama's as I have found anywhere. Fried catfish and shrimp are hot and perfect, I think it's from the hot peanut oil that they use. Mexican cocktail is good too. I have eaten this meal about 100 times. 4 shrimp 2 catfish platter, coleslaw instead of fries (lower carb) and a bowl of gumbo.
Go for it.
Hook Line & SInker is a great place to get a quick seafood lunch. Their menu includes shrimp cocktails, fried catfish, and grilled fishes with fries or vegies. Also po-boy sandwiches and great burgers, all for a very reasonable price.
The crab and shimp platter is enough for two but you have to try to eat it yourself. Everything on the menu is absolutely wonderful and you better have a roll of papertowels. The restuarant is always full, and the friendly service is worth every hard earned dollar you spend there.
When my mom or sister visits from out of town it is the first stop we make when getting off the plane. HLS is the best seafood restaurant in Dallas, Texas. I have been hooked since the first time I tried it. I hate when people offer me other fish joints and I quickly tell them I am loyal to one fishfix. NEVA CHANGE THE MENU! They should branch out though.
