Third time. Will never come back. Rate steak as a 5 out of 10. Better steak at good eats for $5 less. The absolutely worst caesar salad i have ever had served to me any where. Service was good but you can t overcome a bad product
Me and my prom group went to TXLC before our prom a couple of saturdays ago. WORST DECISION EVER. Omg. Prom started at 7 so we had reservations at 630. We even called in advance (about a week before) and placed our order so itd be ready when we got there. NOPE. When we got there, we were asked to wait 20 MINUTES to be seated. What was the point f reservations? Then when we were finally seated the waiter took 25 more minutes to get our meal. He didnt even know what our order was until i showed him the email i sent a week before with all the orders. WTF. So we thought we would be there for only about 45 minutes and we ended up wasting an hour and a half! If you are planning to go here b4 prom, DO NOT. Actually dont come here if you want to be on time at ALL! BAAAD CHOICE. I am very disappointed TXLC, very dissappointed!
And the food wasnt good and they messed up my GF's order!
DO NOT make the same mistake me and my friends did...
I very seldom speak down on a establishment such as Texas Land and Cattle but after the experience I had this past week I have to.
My brother and I went to the location on lemmon avenue Its close to my office and I wanted to treat my brother to a good steak while on leave. I did not mind the wait it was expected. 20 min
After being seated we waited another 15 min befor a waiter came to our table. We both ordered the steak wedge salad. Which were fare at best. Then we both wanted the 12 oz ribeye. Well after about the 3rd glass of tea I asked about our order and the waiter returned about 10 minutes later stateing that no order had been put in. Now for one, the person that went to check on the order was not the same one that took the order. When asked hat happend to the original waiter I was informed that they could not be found. Secondly when I asked for a manger they could not be found as well.
I promtley laid 30 dollars on the table and left. I am sorry to say but I will never return to this establishment. Which is a shame because I have never had a bad exsperience at any TL&C untill now. I even contacted the location and was told a manager would be contacting me. Here is 3 days later and no one has called. I guess the manager does not care what goes on with the customers. Sorry TXLC I just tell it the way it happens
My wife and I flew in from Central America. We were told TLC was the place to go. Food was over priced but pretty good.Salad, bread, and a small sirloin about $17.00. Drinks were fairly priced until I asked for a glass of house red. The glass was half full of just O.K. red wine. When we got the bill I thought that $9.00 was a bit much for half a glass of house red. When I questioned the girl she said they really didn't have house wines and she had given me the least expensive cab. they had. I looked at the menu on the way out. It was the most expensive. I won't go back to your place ever again.
TXLC gains another out-of-town fan: I recently jetted out to Dallas from Carolina for work. One of my requirements was to get me a decent steak; because I know from past experience that steak tastes better after you cross the Blue Ridge. TXLC has done it's part to support what I have experienced in the past. I went on a Thursday for lunch and got the lunch special. It was a 6 oz smoked sirloin (medium rare) served with two smoked chicken enchiladas and jalapeno beans. The food and service was excellent.
UPDATE for NC readers: TXLC has landed in University City. Although it is servicable, it doesn't hold a candle to the one in DFW. It proves my point above about the quality of beef east of the Blue Ridge.
(EDITED 05/28/2008 - somehow this got truncated, so I recreated that last few words.)
Policy “No reservations”, however you can get a reservation if you “insist”?
Long wait for EVERYTHING, painstakingly slow and sleepy staff. Hope you like the taste of SALT. This is the last place to entertain a customer. Our company was personally EMBARASED. Started out laughable turned to tears…
If you are thinking of going to The old warsaw or nick and sams , Save money and go here instead. The food, service and overall experience is better than these High-End duds. Its simple Here you get friendly service , good food and not a long wait. I mean now this place won't blow your mind but its really good food!
