La Parrillada Mexican Kitchen

Description

Both spicy and mild entrees are deliciously prepared at this Mexican restaurant. The casual, friendly atmosphere lets you know this place hopes to warm your heart as well as please your palate. The complimentary thick, spicy salsa is for those who love to fearlessly dip their chips. The Beef and Chicken Enchiladas are cooked with the best of spices, and the accompanying rice and beans are excellent. Be sure to try one of the tuffed Tacos as well. Live music is performed on weekend evenings.

La Parrillada - East Dallas
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/5/10
Excellent food. The dining room gets very crowded on weekends and they have live music, so it can get a bit loud. It is well worth a visit though as the music (though loud) is great and the food is well worth the trip! Located near Gaston Ave and Garland Rd/E. Grand Ave in East Dallas.

As you drive up, the place looks dumpy. When you walk in the place is well lit and well decorated. On weekends they have a Latin jazz band that is really good. I had beef fajitas and they were great. The tortillas were good. The chips and salsa were good. My friend said their wine was good but it was 8 dollars a glass. My fajitas were 13.

My Favorite Place
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/23/07
The only thing I don't like about La Parrillada is that it's 30 miles from home. Try las tripas. I won't trll you what they are, but I will tell you they are deliscious. Xavier Iglacias has been playing at this place on Fridays and Saturdays for years. The only contants in the band are Xavier and the drummer. The rest of the band are volunteers from the Dallas community that have other real jobs. Never the less, they are good musicians. The only problem with this is that the band member attendance can be a little spotty. It's a fun place to go for Tex-Mex. As for the cockroaches, I've never seen one. As for the non-English speaking wait staffm I speak enough Spanish to communicate quite effectively and I consider this to be part of the fun.

Pure Excellence off of White Rock
By Paula, 10/17/07
This restaurant has excellent food, excellent prices, purely authentic and deliberate atmosphere, stellar service, and not once in the hundred plus times I've been there has La Parillada not made sure I left happy. Great place to entertain friends, especially on live music nights! PS- try any of their seafood dishes, and if you're a ceviche fan, this place will sate you.

YUMMM

If you want authentic tex-mex this is the place to go. The atmosphere is absolutley lovely. You can go there to dance, when the wonderful jazz band plays or simply go there to relax in the serene atmosphere. SPORTS LOVERS also can find comfort at La Parrillada, for they do have some nice TVs so you don't have to worry about missing the Big Game. All in all, La Parrillada is a wonderful neighborhood place to spend time with family and friends and enjoy a nice meal.

Hope you get a waitress who speaks English.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/6/07
My wife and I visited this place after our good friend recommended it. Boy were we disappointed. Our waitress nodded her head like she knew what we were saying, but when she brought us our drinks they were all wrong! We asked her tofix them and eventually I had to go to the bar myself and have the bartender correct this. The band was good. Loud but alright. Prices were kinda high considering the neighborhood they are in. The best part was when a HUGE roach went running up the wall! Now that is classic. The only thing worse that could have happened was if our wairess sneezed on our food when she brought it to the table. This was a very bad experience and my wife and myself will not be returning.

One of the very best in town
By Robert, 4/20/07
My wife and I frequent this establishment and have for several years now. When our Canadian friends were in town they really loved the food and music! We really like the Charro bean appetizers, and all the other food items we have ever eaten there are outstanding! Recommend the fajitas, and the sour cream chicken enchiladas are to die for! The music and atmosphere there are outstanding and we'll continue to eat there regularly.

Great Music, Great Food, Family Fun
By Kymberlaine, 9/26/06
The latin jazz band is awesome and they start early enough to enjoy the music with the whole family. It's not at all strange to see the band let a 5 year old sit in long enough to sing happy birthday to her dad. Everyone's really friendly the food is great and it won't break the bank. We're really partial to Mosaic on Friday nights, the percussionist is incredible. If you're into good jazz, good drinks and good prices this is the place for you

Outstanding
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/19/06
You could not ask for a place to be more fun. You have walked in a good place, when families are there for parties, Dads dance with their daughters, Moms with sons. And the food is terrific...polla parrillada is fantastic. Waste no time, get there NOW...and ask for ROSIE to be your server. She is the best...
