Terrible! I ate there for lunch today, and decided to carry out. I ordered the shrimp scampi with angel hair pasta... YUK! That's the best way to describe it. The pasta was doussed in oil, and the sauce instead of being a sauce was a breaded clumpy mess. The shrimp was okay, but I couldn't get over the nasty taste of the heavy oil. Do yourself a favor, don't come here expecting good food... Better yet, save yourself the money and frustration and just skip this place altogether!
This place was awesome. Came highly recommended by my consierge while I was in town. I had the chicken with the vodka sauce. I HIGHLY recommend it!! You'll want to lick your plate that sauce is so great. Restaurant also had a great ambience. Ate at the bar with a beer, chatted with the bartender and other patrons and watched the game. Perfect night! Wish there was one in my town so I could go back.
I really enjoy the downtown feel of the Stone Street Gardens location, even though it isn't the original Campisi's. The food is great, and REALLY well priced, if you're splitting a pizza. Anyway, it's probably the only real, authentic Italian-style pizza you can get around here.
This is where I like to go (or carry out from) on weekends because everyone has seemed to exited for Fuse or the O Bar or wherever is hip and trendy at the moment. Campisi's is here to stay. No need to talk about their incredible pizza. It is the bomb. But the environment is the best place for conversation in their dining room. Crank it up a notch in their bar area. But the last time I went, I met my friendgirl Tina there and we laughed and talked and laughed and talked until closing. The server was charming and the Chicken Parmigana, awesome. It is a mainstay and a Dallas tradition. Try their crab claws!
I had heard a lot about the pizza here, but was totally unimpressed. The sauce was runny and the top of the pizza was floating in grease. I suppose some people like their pizza that way, but I prefer something with a little more style. The service was OK, but the ambiance was a little on the dark side.
