Ate dinner at Maxim's on 6/15/09. It was getting late, and we were looking for a place to eat. We could tell it's an authentic place because there were a couple of large Chinese families at big round tables eating and having a great time. So my small family and I ordered a few dishes from the menu, and they were great! I'm of Cantonese descent, and the food reminded me of old times. Service was good and cordial.
Only problem: we weren't asked about our smoking preference, and one of the men at the really large table was smoking. We weren't that close, but we could smell the smoke.
Next time we'll have to show up for dim sum earlier in the day. A co-worker recommended this restaurant for dim sum.
My favorite place for Dim Sum! I don't believe any restaurant serving Dim Sum on the weekends to have perfect service, but their staff is much more attentive than it's neighborhood rival, Kirin Court. This is also a roomier restaurant which means more tables and a long wait, but it is worth it.
Their lunch buffet is also great!
