My husband loved it! He got meat and ugali and greens. Said it was close enough to aunthentic- I'd say so considering it is african women cooking the food. I got curried chicken something or another - it was decent but I think they forgot to include my rice or something. My chipatti was good. We will go back. The atmosphere- eh not my cup of tea but if you like a mom and pop hole in the wall with Soccer playing on the big screen then you'll love it- my husband did.
My boyfriend & I visited African Village this past weekend due to the great reviews and informative website. Unfortunately, the food was medicocre and didn't taste authentic. I had the beef stew with white rice and my boyfriend had the grilled whole fish with greens.
The pros: The chipatti was good. The atmosphere was great.
The cons: The food didn't have any of the authentic nigerian seasonings that you'd expect fried greens and beef stew to have.
Very disappointed, won't go back.
