First time visit. Very good bar-b-q. But...served with white bread and the sides I had (slaw and potato salad) very disappointing.. They don't deserve to be served beside that delicious meat. And no ice tea??? Restaurant clean and the people very pleasant.
There is no doubt this is very good BBQ. I have eaten BBQ all over America, see my review of Ridgewood BBQ in Tennessee on YouTube. That is the best I have ever had, Oklahoma Style is a 4 star national BBQ which is how I rate it but would be a 5 star Tulsa or Oklahoma BBQ, it isn't quite as good all round as Stuts in Tulsa on Apache, it is the best and the the only 5 Star BBQ in Tulsa or Oklahoma in my opinion, too bad it isn't listed here to review. But you can't go bad with Oklahoma, but I would also make sure to try Stuts on Apache, while there try the tea, and make sure to get there early to get a piece of either Buttermilk or Sweat Potato Pie.
As to Oklahoma Style, the sweat sauce is out of this world, one of the few places I prefer the Beef to the pork, but really good servings and I have never had a bad experience here.
Oklahoma Style is one of the best BBQ joints in Tulsa, I used to go to Pete's years ago when Mattie worked there, and she is carrying on the tradition quite well. I don't like her sweet potato pies as well as Pete's, there is something different about them. Still good though. I wish she would offer the raison pie Pete's used to have, they were great. OKSBBQ has the best sweet sauce I've ever had, and you get a lot of food for the money. The new bldg, (across the street from the old one) is quite nice. The restuarant is always clean and the staff always friendly and make dining there a pleasure. Keep up the good work.
Good food. I love sauce, but like all good barbecue, you don't need it. The people who work here are very nice. Its refreshing to be treated as a valued customer. In today's homogenized corporate world most interaction you have with a chain store is an apathetic High School kid. Being located on Harvard right off Hwy 11 its a quick drive from anywhere in Tulsa.
Oh how I love Oklahoma Style Barbeque. I am currently residing in Dallas and have tried many barbeque resturants and trust me none even compare to Oklahoma Style. I rembember when it was Mrs. Pete barbeque and was located on North Peoria back in the day. Just happy that Mrs. Pete shared the receipe with her neice. JOB WELL DONE!!
