Just back from a late breakfast at the Savoy Cafe...It was OK...but for what I had, the prices are a bit high...Smallish Omelet with meat in it, a bit of hash browns, toast, and coffee $11.83, so with tip $13.83
At Hugo's in Claremore, where I sometimes eat breakfast...$11.83 would feed, literally stuff, 2 people, and have some to go home in a doggy box.
My usual breakfast place, Tally's Cafe at 11th and Yale...I would have had a HUGE Omelet with EVERYTHING, Homefries, 2 biscuits and gravy for about $7.50 plus tax... I'll be staying at Tally's for the bigger portions, and the smaller prices...and the great flavor.
Savoy's waitresses are old and mean and act like you are putting them out just to get seated. Don't dare ask for a drink if your glass is empty because you'll get the evil eye. I don't understand why a business would allow women so mean to be a representative of their company. The food is OK and the cinammon rolls are great but who wants sweet and sour unless they are eating oriental? Wouldn't recommend this place unless you like confrontation! I am pretty sure the comments with more than one star are from the employees and the owner of the restaurant. Don't be scammed! Good food warrants good service!
Every time I'm in Tulsa, I eat at the Savoy. It's wonderful, homey and the service has always been great. It's the kind of place that only the locals know about. They have, I think, the absolute best breakfast in town.
My wife and I went for the first time today, and the customer service was wonderful. Her coffee never was empty, and they remembered it was decaf. The food was also great, and too much to eat it all there. We would recommend it.
Customer service is horrible. I picked up lunch for my office that had been called in and had to wait for 15 minutes before anyone acknowledged me. It was another 10 minutes before I received the order. Also called in to reserve Cinnamon rolls and the waitress answering the phone was rude and kept talking to someone else. Reserved the rolls, but when the office representative showed up, the waitress said they had sold out and again was rude. Food is not worth the lack of customer service.
