We will no longer go to Mimi's to eat. After eating there 4 to 5 times a month, we were used to having a wonderful selection, then they removed about 50 items from their menu. There was nothing on the menu we cared for on the menu to eat. We got up and left and will not return. Other people we have talked to compared it to Delta Cafe.
After several people had recommended Mimi's I decided to give them a try. They weren't very busy that night so there shouldn't have been any problem. I guess the reason it took so long for my meal to arrive was that burning the food takes longer. I can understand how grilling a chicken breast could get it a little overcooked if you are not careful, but black?. And there is simply no excuse to burn asparagus black unless the kitchen caught fire. Once was and is enough. There are too many good restaurants in Tulsa to expose myself to this type of carelessness again.
So we went to Mimi's after church on Sunday. The wait time was 20 minutes, not bad I'd say especially after church in Tulsa.
The food was cold. We ordered mashed potato's with cheese, no vegtables..we got cold potato's, with vegtables, finally got cheese after waiting 10 minutes for it.
Our drink refills were slow to get done.
I ordered breakfeast, half way threw my meal, I got the organge juice.
The food was good tho, but it's totally not really 'louisiana style'. Being from south Louisiana, I do have to say the chicken sausage was really good.
2 people, cost us $30.00.
Not to bad but the service and the cold food is the reason I won't be retuning.
Mimi's Cafe is great! Their portions are really big so our server recommended that we share a meal. We got turkey and dressing with mashed potatoes and steamed veggies and a side salad in adequate portions served on our own plates. Also with every meal you get homemade bread and carrot bread. It was very good and only cost us a little over $10 total for 2 people including drinks and tax. The atmosphere is very cozy, the service was excellent, and the food was delicious.
The Fillet Of Soul Fish is very good, the hamburgers and Bacon burgers are the best, just awesome!!! The price is high but definately worth it. The people that go there are well educated and classy. The atmosphere is very romantic and relaxed, perfect for getting to know someone, it's also good for the holidays and/or special family get togethers and professional get togethers. The bathroom is unique to the building.
I think it's now owned by Bob Evans which that place isn't as clean and the food is no where near as good as Mimi's.
