I’ve eaten at this place several times and mostly it’s mediocre to good with good service though a tad bit overpriced for what you get. I ate there last week and everything was god awful. First I got a terrible waitress named Dawn that at best was unenthusiastic and at worst down right rude and negligent. The place was not busy at all but had to wait forever for drinks and to take our order. We were informed 3/4ths of the menu was unavailable so we settled on hamburger and fries. After being abandoned for about 20 minutes she came back with the drinks and then walked over to a booth and engaged in small talk for 15 minutes doing nothing. We waited an hour before being served and the fries were cold and so were the burgers, as well and the buns being soaked with grease from sitting so long. I would have thought after waiting so long it would have been fresh and hot. Not so. Cold and greasy. If you eat at this place it’s apparently a crap shoot between what you’ll end up getting. The only thing consistent is the high prices. My 2 orders of cold greasy burgers and fries with the terrible shitty service cost about $30.00…. Enter at your own risk…. I think I’ll go to Mcdonalds next time.
basically low grade dog food, the meat has whip marks on it where the jockey was hitting it..
Either the people who have commented here are plants from the restaurant or family members of they've never eaten a decent steak in their lives.
Ate the prime rib, ordered it rare. What I got resembled more of a ham steak in texture and didn't even taste like beef. When I mentioned it to the waitress she said that's the way they always look and they come in prepackaged servings that they take out of bags. I thought this was a STEAK house!
Not what I expected, very disappointed. The potato ended up being the only edible thing on the plate as the salad was iceberg, one cucumber and one tomato slice. I think I'd rather eat a ribeye at Applebee's than travel to Blair for bad food.
MMM!! Awesomely Good!! One of my most favorite places! Love the atmosphere, the people n the food...did I already mention the food??? The steaks are amazing, I prefer my steaks med/rare and usually end up with med...except here, it was perfect, tender, melt in your mouth scrumptious!! Everyone in my group ooo'd & awe'd about their food. Excellent was the consensus!!! 5+ GOLD STARS!
The decor is so eclectic, cool old antiques and memorbelia everywhere. So much to look at...and remember.

ONE OF THE BEST ....I have to give it up to the Backdoor Steak House. Everything from the sweet tea to the desserts are top notch. I had the Blooming Onion, fried dill pickles,fried mushrooms and the tater skins...then jumped head first into the steak, ribeye I might add....OMG!!!! The food there is outstanding...go casual in flip flops, and get ready to have them KNOCKED OFF.....The staff is there was on top of the BALL!!!! Going back each week to support the local community....and to enjoy the best food you can get in these here parts!!!
Our family went to the Backdoor Steakhouse tonight and really enjoyed the meals. We had everything from Steaks to burgers. The portions were huge and everything was great!. We could not have asked for better service from our waitress and food was served quickly. Thanks for another great meal! We will return........
Travel to Altus 3-4 times a year and looked forward to finally making it to Backdoor.
The staff is very friendly, atmosphere OK.
Salad and potato were great, however my 10oz ribeye was almost unedible, very tough, ordered rare but the cut of meat was not good, being this is a steak house you would think the chef would have seen this prior to cooking.
Also, and this has nothing to do with Backdoor, the county is semi-dry on Sunday, if you want a glass of wine or cocktail forget it, only 3.2 beer on Sundays.
Sorry but the Applebee's next to my hotel would have been more consistent. Not really worth the 10 mile drive from Altus tonight.
Absolutely the best ribs I have ever had. We had a party of 6 and everyone was thrilled with the meal. We had ribs, rib-eye steak, and chicken. There was enough food on the salad bar to make a meal. Loved the red beans and okra. We look forward to going back for New Years.
