We pulled into Duncan, Okla. early Sat morning on the 13th of Aug 2011.
We had been up since 5 A.M. fri Morning. Tired and famished.
As we we were looking for what we thought would be a good looked to be a home cooked breafast we saw this place and it was packed
We found place to park and as we started in saw the sign cash only. After eating we understood why
One family did not get all of their meal which should have sent a flag up for us as the waitress was argueing wiith the guy over it getting removed from the bill. A doallor may be one thing but a nine dollar breakfast you did not get is another.
We ordered a breakfast of 2 eggs over easy with chicken fried steak, the menu did not say if it came with hashbrowns or toast but for 2.65 for hash browns as extra we did not order them.
We finally got a second cup of coffee after waitng for ever, now a place that is full and busy I am patient but by the time we were ready for a second round everyone had been served and people were clearing out.
The coffee was so weak it was almost water. Finally our eggs and steak arrived ( did come with half raw hash browns ). As soon as I looked at mine I see they are broken and almost fried hard. The wife was fair a little softer. I told the waitress this is not over easy eggs you need to teach your cook what over easy is and she just laughed and says oj well.
We start eating and then hear these loud voices and it is to waitress arguing over helping a vendor, she was saying you can help them tomorrow and they can just wait. The vendors were a fairly old couple have no idea what they were selling.
The chicken fried steak tasted more like a paqckaged Tyson steak or something not all that well
We felt the place is way over priced ,they do not care if you ever come back and the cash is so you can't stop payment for the bad food.
I understand places have bad days but when you see another family having a problem then it is different.
We do not even suggest going there for coffee, now if you want to visit and meet people this is the place. We were not there 5 minutes before a customer was asking where you folks from ,new to town. Not being a nosey person they were just being polite.
Save your money and drive on up the road to Golden Corral or go to the casino out on 81 north
I think mosst folks goi there to get coffeee and visit ,I can't believe the y think the food is that good.
2eggs w/susage or bacon is over 8 dollars if you get ham it is over 9 bucks with chicken fry steak it is over 7 doallrs coffee and tea is extra
